Why do religious people consider "faith" a virtue?
Faith is defined as believing in something without any absolute proof.

Even you religious folk can admit that other false religions have millions of people tied to them based on this "virtue" of "faith".

Faith is a ridiculously dangerous concept.

In the good book, it says 'Without faith it is impossible to please God'. No faith - no pleasing God. Having faith - pleasing God. When Jesus upbraided his followers for not being able to reproduce the same miracle, they were chastened with 'O ye of little faith'.

Why do religious people consider faith a virtue? It's what God is looking for in us in regard to Him.

My point is if your Bible told you that it was okay to kill in the name of God (like the Koran) you would gladly do it just as easily as they do it. My point?

You're all gullible retards.

By the way, the Old Testament DOES have many examples proving that it's okay to kill in the name of your God. Get cracking you retarded slave monkeys.

Why yes He did. 2000 years ago. His words have been recorded more times than any other person in history. And the words that stand out for their clarity, authority can be measured against any other masterful 'sage's' words and be shown for their amazing superiority.

The book may be man-made but the words in it are not. It 's the words that matter. 'Faith comes by hearing, hearing by the Word of God'.

Re: Why do religious people consider "faith" a virtue?
A persons faith is simply a by-product of ones surroundings, heritage, cultural upbringing, etc... If by chance a person had been raised in the jungle by a tribe that worships the sun, then his faith would be in the sun. How can there be only one true faith when this sun faith would be considered by him, to be the one true faith?

Okay then, let me just enlighten you (with your own holy scriptures) as to what kind of "god" you are worshiping:

"They attacked Midian just as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed all the men. All five of the Midianite kings – Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba – died in the battle. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword. Then the Israelite army captured the Midianite women and children and seized their cattle and flocks and all their wealth as plunder. They burned all the towns and villages where the Midianites had lived. After they had gathered the plunder and captives, both people and animals, they brought them all to Moses and Eleazar the priest, and to the whole community of Israel, which was camped on the plains of Moab beside the Jordan River, across from Jericho."

"Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the people went to meet them outside the camp. But Moses was furious with all the military commanders who had returned from the battle. "Why have you let all the women live?" he demanded. "These are the very ones who followed Balaam's advice and caused the people of Israel to rebel against the LORD at Mount Peor. They are the ones who caused the plague to strike the LORD's people. Now kill all the boys and all the women who have slept with a man. Only the young girls who are virgins may live; you may keep them for yourselves."
