19 After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt 20 and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and go back to the land of Israel, because those who tried to kill the child are dead. 21

Clearly, those who tried to kill the Child were viewed as a threat.
 Quoting: Once4All

sure there were threats and still are , but was he ever vulnerable (no) and we are not either if we have the full Shield of Armour on
 Quoting: Goofy for God

Was Jesus as a baby wearing the full armor of God?

I don't think so!

 Quoting: Goofy for God

hmmmmm...... True. Jesus is God.

However, God was entrusted into the care of people. And, people eventually killed Him.

I do believe it is easy for us to focus on the divinity of Jesus and forget that He is also 100% human.
We become like that to which we are devoted. - Choose wisely.

M't:2:16:
Then Herod,
when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men,
was exceeding wroth,
and sent forth,
and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem,
and in all the coasts thereof,
from two years old and under,
according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
M't:2:17:
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet,
saying,
M't:2:18:
In Rama was there a voice heard,
lamentation,
and weeping,
and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children,
and would not be comforted,
because they are not.

Re:12:4:
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the earth:
and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered,
for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Re:12:5:
And she brought forth a man child,
who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron:
and her child was caught up unto God,
and to his throne.

i'm not really a christian, but the idea that god came along and said "see, not putting you through anything i wouldn't do"... the idea alone is worthy of a ponderance...
 Quoting: Citizenperth

That's not really the way the plan works.

Jer:4:28:
For this shall the earth mourn,
and the heavens above be black:
because I have spoken it,
I have purposed it,
and will not repent,
neither will I turn back from it.

Zep:1:14:
The great day of the LORD is near,
it is near,
and hasteth greatly,
even the voice of the day of the LORD:
the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
Zep:1:15:
That day is a day of wrath,
a day of trouble and distress,
a day of wasteness and desolation,
a day of darkness and gloominess,
a day of clouds and thick darkness,
Zep:1:16:
A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities,
and against the high towers.
Zep:1:17:
And I will bring distress upon men,
that they shall walk like blind men,
because they have sinned against the LORD:
and their blood shall be poured out as dust,
and their flesh as the dung.

He just has to follow the script. The order is 'out with the bad' and then'in with the good'

Zep:3:8:
Therefore wait ye upon me,
saith the LORD,
until the day that I rise up to the prey:
for my determination is to gather the nations,
that I may assemble the kingdoms,
to pour upon them mine indignation,
even all my fierce anger:
for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
Re:10:6:
And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever,
who created heaven,
and the things that therein are,
and the earth,
and the things that therein are,
and the sea,
and the things which are therein,
that there should be time no longer:
Re:10:7:
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel,
when he shall begin to sound,
the mystery of God should be finished,
as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.

Ahhhhhhhh.... Baby Jesus with his little feets all wrapped in a blanket.... too bad you people start talking about this in December when the conception occurred. The birth didn't happen until September. You are all soooo scholarly and perpetuate bullshit philosophical views and interpretations like Job's 3 friends in the first 40 chapters of Job, but you always miss the mark.

Why is it so hard for everyone to find the truth?!?!?

I'll tell you why. Because those that think they know truth are either newcomers, vipers, or confused individuals kept in a slumber as to not risk them damning their own souls when the Apostasy is so close at hand. I have nothing against newcomers, but you should not even begin to try and teach anyone anything until you have at least 10 years of study under your belt. And that is good solid study, not some confused doctrine. Find yourself a good teacher that does not teach the fly away rapture doctrine and teaches the false messiah comes before Christ. And the Antichrist is Lucifer himself not some possessed flesh body. Learn quickly, 'cause you don't have 10 years anymore. You have months now.

Do I sound hard? You bet I do. You don't like it, lump it, people. My marching orders are written in a Book of the Living God. If you take issue with what I say, then you take issue with Holy Scripture, period. No interpretations or falsities; straight from the Hebrew and Greek.

And stop talking about baby Jesus in December, it makes you look ignorant. I am not against any of you seeking truth because you are all my brothers and sisters. I want what is best for all souls. But I will not stand for wicked souls working for the destroyer trying to confuse people even more so. It is time to really start thinking. When God tells me to start fighting for souls, then the gloves will come off. For now, I hope those that need to read this, will do so.

Re: Build -A- Teaching: How Vulnerable Was the Baby Jesus? Please share -->
google search the works of the nun Catherine Emmerich who claimed to have visions of the life and times of Joseph and Mary and The Infant Jesus

here's an extract, I suppose discernment is required with any literature

Some days after the birth of Jesus, I saw a touching scene in the Crib Cave.
Joseph and Mary were standing by the Crib and gazing with emotion upon
the Infant Jesus, when suddenly the ass fell upon its knees and lowered its
head to the ground. Mary and Joseph shed tears. I saw Mary at another
time standing by the Crib. As she gazed upon the Child, the deep conviction
stole upon her that It had come upon earth to suffer. That reminded me of a
vision I had had at an earlier period in which I had been shown how Jesus,
while still in His Mothers womb and from the movement of His birth, had
suffered. I saw under the heart of Mary a glory and in it a bright shining
Child. As I gazed upon It, it seemed as if Mary were hovering over It and
surrounding It. I beheld the Child growing and all the torments of the
Crucifixion inflicted upon It. It was a sad, a fearful sight! I wept and sobbed
aloud. I saw other forms around It beating and pushing, scourging and
crowning It. Then they laid the Cross upon It, next nailed It to the same, and
pierced It in the side. I saw the whole Passion of Christ in the Child. It was a
frightful sight! As the Child hung on the Cross, It said to me: "All this did I
suffer from My conception until My thirty fourth year, when My Passion
was outwardly consummated." (The Lord died when He was thirty three
years and three months old.) "Go and announce it to men!" But how can I
announce it to men?
I saw Jesus also as the newborn Child, and I saw how many of the children
that went to the Crib ill4reated the Infant Jesus. The Mother of God was not
there to protect the Child, and the children went with all kinds of switches
and rods, and struck It in the face until the Blood flowed. The Child meekly
extended Its little hands before Its face, in order to ward off the blows. The
smallest children were they that struck the most maliciously. The parents of
some even twisted and wrapped the rods for them. They brought thorns,
nettles, whips, little rods of all kinds, each having its own signification. One
came with a very slender rod, like a reed. But when it was about to strike
the Child, the rod snapped, and fell back upon itself. I knew several of the
children. Some went about boasting in their fine clothes, but I stripped them,
and whipped some of them well.

Only a fool says there is no God; and you sir... well... you know the rest.

Btw... you are covered in my previous post too. Just another fool trying to confuse people. Look around you, do you think the burden of Damascus is at hand because of Global Warming? Think about it. Hmmm.... bright boy? Is that a fairy tale?

Do you think that Obama pushing America over the fiscal cliff and fulfilling scripture by becoming the raiser of taxes was caused by not enough smart meters on power grids? I tell you now that this is only a means of setting the stage for grander things that are playing out. The Americans can only keep their economy together so long. When the health care "tax" hits businesses then things will crumble quickly. When the American economy finally goes, the world economy will go with it. America and Europe is Israel, friend -two of the largest economies in the would destroyed by austerity measures and over taxing. Wake up. It is in front of you! Is that a fairy tale?

Or do you worship some god of wood and stone? One that does nothing more than what a child's toy does after you rip it from its store package and set it on a shelf.

Or perhaps you believe in nothing. In which case your wish will be granted you. Rejoice. You win the prize.

Yes, I have the audacity. God tells His servants to be BOLD! And I am bold for Him! I will go to my grave rejoicing that I was Bold for Him.

You make yourself my enemy by being an enemy of God.

You have the nerve to even suggest that God does not exist. People like you were spoke of thousands of years ago. Congratulate yourself, fool! For you have counted yourself among those that God considers less than even a spec of dust.

paraphrasing..

when Lucifer was tempting YAHshua in the wilderness he cited that if YAHshua threw himself from the high place the angels were charged to make sure He didn't dash His foot on a rock and they would rescue Him immediately.

I believe that the Herod thing had a purpose or it would not have happened as it did. That purpose may be somewhere in the hundreds of prophesies in the Old Testament that all point to that one person born in a manger in Bethlehem.

YAHshua (Jesus) didn't start His ministry until He was around 30 years old. He told Mary at the wedding feast that His time was not yet arrived for His ministry, yet to honor His earthly mother, He did as she asked.

How did Mary have such faith? She wasn't intending to ask something that He could not do. She knew He had power. There may be interesting stories there that have not been recorded for us.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29245918

Yes. it was all in fulfillment of prophesy as in Matthew 2:15

And was there until the death of Herod: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of Egypt have I called My Son.

Also later moving to Narareth fulfilled prophesy the He would be called a Nazarene.

As He had said He knew He had an appointed time and all things about Him would be fulfilled. So in that sense He was protected for the day His Sacrifice.

We also know that He grew and learned like the rest of us and prayed and had faith in His Father. So He had a complete human experience as we do but He lived sinlessly and always did what pleased His Father.

According to December conception, Jesus would have been three months old His first December after birth. So, yes, His little feet ptobably were in a blanket. Interesting. Hey, let's all ponder what material composed the blanket. Was it wool? Silk? Other? Talk amongst yourselves until AC above returns to redirect us. Now, back to my study on Jesus' life before receiving the Holy Spirit . . .

With the slightest sincere study, the Bible is clear. Judas was no patsy. He rejected Jesus Christ and betrayed Him. It was foreknown, but not forced upon Judas. He chose his actions.

I believe he gave us the story to show us how to listen , he is all powerful and never almost anything
 Quoting: Goofy for God

He is all powerful? They actually killed Him!!!

It wasn't just a play.

 Quoting: Once4All

It was assisted suicide, actually. Jesus/God wanted to be killed! Had to be killed!
So, if he set it all up that way then it was suicide, albeit with the assistance and collusion of others.
Certainly one of the more bizarre cults in the world...
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 29314618

No, Jesus did not want to commit suicide. He knew they were going to crucify him, because his Father God had said it would happen. He didn't fight it, because it was the will of his Father. He sweated blood, as he talked to God, asked if it were possible to take the what was going to happen away. He said, not my will but your will be done. He finish the deed, that set us free, because without it we would have been condemned. He forgave the ones that asked for his Crucifixion, because they didn't know what they were doing.

Like all prophecies, the word was told but they never listened until it happened. Only then did they look and find out what they did, meaning the head Rabbis of the synagog, the average Jew didn't they they were told that he was a sinner and blasphemer against God, closer to being the devil himself.

You would find out much more, if you read the old and new testaments of the Holy Bible. It is a really good book, because it never ends, you could read it a hundred times and still find things you never read before, That is God for you, keeps the devil on his toes, he can't win for losing!

Jesus was weakened by Kryptonite, right? Wait. That's Superman.

Jesus could only use his powers once a year, right? Wait. That's Santa Claus.

Jesus had the ability to put teeth under children's pillows, right? Wait. That's the Tooth Fairy.

It's hard to keep fictional characters straight.

Ahhhhhhhh....It is time to really start thinking. When God tells me to start fighting for souls, then the gloves will come off. For now, I hope those that need to read this, will do so.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 18225135

The LORD has told me: "I am to be called LORD or The LORD..., (and that you) need to bring people to Me."

..This is taking the gloves off, so to speak.

This occurred to me while considering our conscience thoughts; while one is laying in wait.. (that is, considering to commit crime/sin), are you really behind the wheel mentally during the time you consider these things??

goodevil

This concept can easily be tested on your own - it is very similar in principle to "blind rage" or driving a car while thinking about something, as you drive down the freeway.

The big difference though, is this: the evil one can leave so fast that you never realized it was him, running your mental commentaries. He weaves in and out of your commentary, emotions, and feelings.

When I told myself I had figured it out, my internal voice said "so what are you gonna do about it" except this wasn't ME asking.

I felt fear, and recognized this to be the enemy. There is only one way to respond to this, and that voice which wasn't my own: I rebuke you in the Name of GOD.

Instantly at that moment, the Lord came to comfort me and I could see absolutely pure white only like I wasnt even there, and I recognized this to be The LORD, as the presence drove out the enemy and then revealed to me verbatim as posted above.

I do believe it is easy for us to focus on the divinity of Jesus and forget that He is also 100% human.

Yes, I think He had to develop just like we did....

Close but still protected.

M't:2:16:
Then Herod,
when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men,
was exceeding wroth,
and sent forth,
and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem,
and in all the coasts thereof,
from two years old and under,
according to the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men.
M't:2:17:
Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet,
saying,
M't:2:18:
In Rama was there a voice heard,
lamentation,
and weeping,
and great mourning,
Rachel weeping for her children,
and would not be comforted,
because they are not.

Re:12:4:
And his tail drew the third part of the stars of heaven,
and did cast them to the earth:
and the dragon stood before the woman which was ready to be delivered,
for to devour her child as soon as it was born.
Re:12:5:
And she brought forth a man child,
who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron:
and her child was caught up unto God,
and to his throne.

i'm not really a christian, but the idea that god came along and said "see, not putting you through anything i wouldn't do"... the idea alone is worthy of a ponderance...
 Quoting: Citizenperth

That's not really the way the plan works.

Jer:4:28:
For this shall the earth mourn,
and the heavens above be black:
because I have spoken it,
I have purposed it,
and will not repent,
neither will I turn back from it.

Zep:1:14:
The great day of the LORD is near,
it is near,
and hasteth greatly,
even the voice of the day of the LORD:
the mighty man shall cry there bitterly.
Zep:1:15:
That day is a day of wrath,
a day of trouble and distress,
a day of wasteness and desolation,
a day of darkness and gloominess,
a day of clouds and thick darkness,
Zep:1:16:
A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities,
and against the high towers.
Zep:1:17:
And I will bring distress upon men,
that they shall walk like blind men,
because they have sinned against the LORD:
and their blood shall be poured out as dust,
and their flesh as the dung.

Was Jesus as a baby wearing the full armor of God?

I don't think so!
 Quoting: Once4All

of course the baby was God
 Quoting: Goofy for God

hmmmmm...... True. Jesus is God.

However, God was entrusted into the care of people. And, people eventually killed Him.
 Quoting: Once4All

And the baby Jesus had not yet received the Holy Spirit. I still think this is the distinguishing factor. I am still reading into this, because my claim still has holes; John the Baptist had the Holy Spirit in the womb, before Jesus was born.
 Quoting: SoulWinner

It is interesting that The Baptizer had the Holy Spirit from the babies womb!

He just has to follow the script. The order is 'out with the bad' and then'in with the good'

Zep:3:8:
Therefore wait ye upon me,
saith the LORD,
until the day that I rise up to the prey:
for my determination is to gather the nations,
that I may assemble the kingdoms,
to pour upon them mine indignation,
even all my fierce anger:
for all the earth shall be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.

Re:10:5:
And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven,
Re:10:6:
And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever,
who created heaven,
and the things that therein are,
and the earth,
and the things that therein are,
and the sea,
and the things which are therein,
that there should be time no longer:
Re:10:7:
But in the days of the voice of the seventh angel,
when he shall begin to sound,
the mystery of God should be finished,
as he hath declared to his servants the prophets.
