Is there any possibility this meteor is related to December 21st?

If anyone said swamp gas then you are correct.

Too far out to get here by Dec. 21st of this year, i think it is a comet that they already know about that is supposed to whip around the sun first week of march 2013. Be in our neighborhood in a couple of months though.

I think most Texans who saw it do not believe it was a meteor.

If its not Panstarr then what? A new comet? Couldnt be the other comet..its not due until November of 2013 viewable until early 2014, correct?

Or it still could be panstarr, couldn't more out gassing speed it up some?

If so, the tail that this is producing is pretty huge. It cross the first bar on 11/30 and the second bar, that Jupiter is on 12/5.

And as you can see in the video, if your really magnify it, that it sort of changes courses and heads more towards Earth, or maybe the Sun?

If I have all my planets in a row ... this does appear to be fairly large and is moving pretty fast. If these assumptions would be true that it took five days for the first part then just strictly eyeballing it ... It looks like it could be here around the 11th or 12th.

I think that would be me, the chick, i have actually been here on GLP for over 11 years. Under different names of course.

Im an amateur astronomer of sorts and keep up on the incoming comets, this one they are talking about seemed to fit into the March comet perimeters so i voiced my opinion.

I know I keep asking questions. But, unfortunately I have nothing to add except 2 things that may or may not be relevant. Did any of you guys know about the black box in the sky watching programs where there was an obvious big black box in google maps at 5h 53m 27s -6 10' 58".

Also, last year I saw an object rise above the sun in April till it was so bright I couldn't see it anymore. It looked like a penny above a grapefruit and it was yellowish orange.The sky was very clear here mind you no clouds and no chem trails for once. I didn't see it again. No I was not on drugs. No I was not half asleep and no I'm not crazy well that crazy anyways lmfao

Ohhh just remembered a 3rd thing 3 years ago I had a dream that they said on the news that it was the end of the world and not to go outside. I did anyways of course dohh!! so it was an eerie lavender outside as if our atmosphere was denser. I saw a bunch of planets nearby closer than the moon it was like a strange new age painting.

Ok so Jupiter is about 321 million miles from Earth, you do the math, i don't think it could be traveling that fast to get here by the 12th of December.

THAT IS FINE WAS JUST WONDERING. SEEMED AT FIRST LIKE YOU KNEW 100%. AFTER READING YOUR LAST FEW POSTS THOUGH SEEMS MORE LIKE NOW YOUR TAKING AN EDUCATED GUESS WHICH MAKES MORE SENSE TO ME.

That is what im trying to do, would be great if it was a new comet, but have to rule out the obvious first.

All you have to do is look at it. I downloaded the frames from NASA and blew them up.

You can't go by that distance, because it is not traveling "as a crow flys" ... it is traveling as a very fast comet with on HUGE tail! At least from what I can tell from the NASA downloads.

It could miss Earth by a million miles, above or below, but I am betting with something this size, we may get a show.
