"Brighter than a full moon" The biggest star of 2013!! Remarkably Ison might not be the only spectacular comet visible next year. Another comet, called 2014 L4 (PanSTARRS), was discovered last year and in March and April it could also be a magnificent object in the evening sky. 2013 could be the year of the great comets. Quoting: Texas2012 don't froget DA14 2012 its going to fly by close on feb 15th i hope it hits the ISS fuck them in space lol |

Today we recognize the gasses they bring into our atmosphere can be toxic and there is a link between the black death in England and a comet. Look it up. |

It’s out beyond Jupiter’s orbit still, now, but it’s heading for a close encounter with the sun in 2013. Called C/2012 S1 (ISON) by astronomers, its orbital characteristics indicate it might become a very bright object in Earth’s sky, beginning in November 2013. If so, all of us around the globe should be able to see it late next year. |

After a great misery for mankind, an ever greater approaches. The great cycle of the centuries renewed, it will rain blood, milk, famine, war disease. (Mastiff always refers to the British Throne, new arrives in 2013 to Prince William, who will be "King Arther". The Pope changes country aka passes away following an attack on Rome) During the appearance of The Bearded Star, the three Great Princes will be made enemies. "Brighter than a full moon" The biggest star of 2013!! ... Quoting: --Voltaic-- Yes, NASA says it will be the brightest comet to cross the eyes of mankind since the dawn of recorded history. and to note: Around the later day November 28th 2013, the comets tail will aim down which could look like an apparition of some sort. ISON could have religious implications world wide. And that has a tendency to lead to war. This will be a huge event for the entire world!! The Mayan calendar was off by 1 year. D'OH! :homer: I know right! Imagine the coincidence, and ironically you should read this..... [link to www.cslib.org] Between 1582 and 1752, not only were two calendars in use in Europe (and in European colonies), but two different starts of the year were in use in England. Although the "Legal" year began on March 25, the use of the Gregorian calendar by other European countries led to January 1 becoming commonly celebrated as "New Year's Day" and given as the first day of the year in almanacs. To avoid misinterpretation, both the "Old Style" and "New Style" year was often used in English and colonial records for dates falling between the new New Year (January 1) and old New Year (March 25), a system known as "double dating." Such dates are usually identified by a slash mark [/] breaking the "Old Style" and "New Style" year, for example, March 19, 1631/2. Occasionally, writers would express the double date with a hyphen, for example, March 19, 1631-32. In general, double dating was more common in civil than church and ecclesiastical records. very interesting easy to misplace a year eh? |

"Brighter than a full moon" The biggest star of 2013!! The unique characteristics of ISON are: 1- ISON is from the outer edges of the Solar System: Meaning it hasn't been "melted" by the Sun yet and will out gas a lot. Producing large, bright tails with greater potential for more then one tail. 2- ISON and the path will be precisely 180 degrees of Earths orbit: Meaning the comet will not appear to have the distinct curl and will appear to slice through the Sun. Multiple tails would appear like layered spears. Also means the amount of sun light reflected is at it's greatest. 3- ISON's curve in the tail will reflect different colors at different angles: There might be a unique color display around the Sun. Especially with multiple tails reflecting different shades of color from different angles of reflection. Earth viewers are in-line of the concave like shape of tail. 4- ISON will been seen crossing the Sun under 6 hours: This is due to the very close approach causing rapid acceleration. This will also make a sharper tail closer to the comet itself. Almost able to see it move in the sky with the naked eye. We might get to see solar interference. 5- ISON might explode on approach: Most likely when near the Sun. It is possible an explosion could occur on the opposite side where we can't see ISON crossing the Sun. The debris will spread out creating a crystal like reflection of light around the Sun. Possibly creating a large, colorful halo around the Sun, growing by the day until it fades away. This would produce a truly unique show in the sky. 6- ISON is already predicted to be the brightest comet in recorded history: That alone is worth the viewing. 7- ISON's tail will be subjected to Solar activity: As ISON will be really close to the Sun. Any flare/cme will displace the tail and produce unique apparitions of illuminated Solar and Cometary material mixing. Blue Star Kachina anyone?!?!?! In FACT, the ambient color from reflection might be blue hues on approach and turn to red hues after passing the Sun. Since ISON's orbit isn't parallel to Earths orbit, over all reflected angle would be determined by placement against the Sun and the Earth. Comet ISON may be BOTH the Blue Star Kachina AND the Red Star as well. Makes sense as the Blue Star must first pass. |

"Brighter than a full moon" The biggest star of 2013!! ^^ it is gonna be AMAZING! i liked this write up of it too.. [link to www.independent.co.uk] Ison's surface is very dark – darker than asphalt – pockmarked and dusty with ice beneath the surface. It's a small body, a few tens of miles across, with a tiny pull of gravity. If you stood upon it you could leap 20 miles into space taking over a week to come down again, watching as the comet rotated beneath you. You could walk to the equator, kneel down and gather up handfuls of comet material to make snowballs, throw them in a direction against the comet's spin and watch them hang motionless in front of you. But it will not remain quiet on Comet Ison for the Sun's heat will bring it to life. By the end of summer it will become visible in small telescopes and binoculars. By October it will pass close to Mars and things will begin to stir. The surface will shift as the ice responds to the thermal shock, cracks will appear in the crust, tiny puffs of gas will rise from it as it is warmed. The comet's tail is forming. Slowly at first but with increasing vigour, as it passes the orbit of Earth, the gas and dust geysers will gather force. The space around the comet becomes brilliant as the ice below the surface turns into gas and erupts, reflecting the light of the Sun. Now Ison is surrounded by a cloud of gas called the coma, hundreds of thousands of miles from side to side. The comet's rotation curves these jets into space as they trail into spirals behind it. As they move out the gas trails are stopped and blown backwards by the Solar Wind. By late November it will be visible to the unaided eye just after dark in the same direction as the setting Sun. Its tail could stretch like a searchlight into the sky above the horizon. Then it will swing rapidly around the Sun, passing within two million miles of it, far closer than any planet ever does, to emerge visible in the evening sky heading northward towards the pole star. It could be an "unaided eye" object for months. When it is close in its approach to the Sun it could become intensely brilliant but at that stage it would be difficult and dangerous to see without special instrumentation as it would be only a degree from the sun. |
