Is this to turn LEOs against the people and vice-versa? What percentage of LEOs do you feel will currently stand with the people vs. with tyranny, and do feel this percentage is swinging in one direction or the other? Quoting: HundredthMonkey I respect your question but this thread is about Firearm safety , training and what is the best firearm for each person. I would like to keep this thread from taking a political turn and getting off of the topic at hand. Thank you. I am disappointed but respect your answer. No further reply is necessary. These are, however, the types of questions the people really need answered by someone with your experience. Please reconsider and thanks for replying to my other off-topic questions. Quoting: USMC0369 I know that but they have the same type of Saftey on the back of the Pistol Grip It's called a grip safety, and as an NRA instructors you should know that and use the correct terminology. The one on the XDS has the same placement, but not in the least the same function, nor does it have the known problems and limitations of the 1911 designed grip safety, Again something an instructor should know... This is what I was thinking... Not only that, any decent instructor would know that trigger control is the most important fundamental of shooting. This guy is most likely a teenager who has been watching YT videos for his "master" certification!! I already posted the fundamentals at the start of the thread. Plus if you were a real shooter you would know that Sight aliment sight pitcher is the most important fundamental of shooting, and you would also know that if you don’t do all of the fundamentals of shooting correctly it will throw your shot off, and you won’t be able to retrieve good down range feedback from your target. “Once A Marine Always A Marine” |

Quoting: USMC0369 Like I said before I love the Glock-19 for my CCW weapon, but do not recommend it for a novice shooter do to the Safe Action Trigger (Lack of a Safety) I’m not a fan of the 1911 style of safety that the Springfield XD has on it all. I’ve saw them mess up to many times in the past and cause a Major malfunction. When you’re talking about a CCW handgun you need something that you know will fire every time. Yet you do not have a problem with revolvers for "novice shooters", which have less safeties than a GLOCK does? Now I am smelling something rotten... Only a fool would actually recommend the pathetic .32 as a CCW firearm. Whats next, a Jennings .25 auto? This guy is no firearms instructor I would trust my life too, YMMV, but beware. 99% of all shooting take place within 21 feet. A .32 Auto is just as good as a 9mm at that close of range with the proper ammo in it. (Personal protection Ammo) The Question was about a pocket Firearm for a CCW Firearm. The .32 Auto is great for that you start moving up to 9mm and it gets way to balky. As far as a revolver. It is a very safe Firearm. With the Double Action Trigger that most modern revolvers have today there is NO WAY that you will pull that trigger is less you want it pulled. Unlike some of the Automatics that have a hair trigger on it. The safety on the Revolver is the trigger. Have you ever shot a Revolver? You are so full of shit I can smell it over the internet! NO .32 can match a 9mm with ANY ammo! Simple physics and laws of motion, fool. GLOCK pistols have an average trigger pull of about 6~8 pounds, that is not a "hair" trigger. On a GLOCK the safety is not only internal safeties, but the shooter, AS WITH ALL FIREARMS, the shooter is the most important safety. You might be a firearms instructor (because the industry is full of half wits) but you are NOT a good one! I did not say a Glock had a hair triger at all. You just go back and look at the post. and a .32 will do everything you need it to do at 21 feet. “Once A Marine Always A Marine” |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 10401141 United States 01/01/2013 10:32 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I'm shooting left of target consistently with my 29SF (10mm Glock) at 7 to 12 yards. I use a modified weaver stance. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 30513772 Help? Focus on your trigger control. Most errors in pistol shooting happen because of an uneven, fast or jerky trigger finger. The most common errors for left of target hits. (If you are a right handed shooter) are: Not enough trigger. In other words, your finger is touching the trigger on the right side as opposed to down the center, This can produce a left push as you pull through the trigger. Tightening the grip as you fire. Anticipating the recoil can cause you to push the gun (should produce a high left hit. 10-11 o clock Jerky trigger should produce a 6.30-7.30 hit Not enough trigger will be a dead left.. 9 o clock. Tightening the grip should land your shots between the 7-8.30 position. These are simplified diagnostic tools. To check yourself. Have a friend load a magazine with a snap cap hidden somewhere in the stack. You will see your problem when pulling the trigger on that round. You just can't know where or when in the magazine it's coming. If problems persist, find a qualified and GOOD instructor to check your shooting. The modified weaver stance tends to bring the sights closer to your eyes, which makes the rear sight notch appear bigger, which produces a lot of "airspace" between the notch and the front sight. Try to shoot isosceles with a positive grip to identify if the problem is an alignment one. But consistent hits to one side rarely are. |
