Aspartame has been Renamed and is Now Being Marketed as a Natural Sweetener
Artificial sweeteners especially aspartame has gotten a bad rap over the years, most likely due to studies showing they cause cancer. But not to worry Ajinomoto the company that makes

Aspartame has changed the name to AminoSweet. It has the same toxic ingredients but a nice new sounding name. And if you or your child happens to be allergic to Aspartame, well don’t take it personally it’s just business

Just like they are now disguising MSG by calling it: yeast extract. Chemical warfare is an ever-evolving undertaking.

Re: Aspartame has been Renamed and is Now Being Marketed as a Natural Sweetener
Aspartame was created by the Searle Corporation while Donald Rumsfeld was CEO in 1989 I believe. Like many toxic things, the FDA first banned it, but was sued by the Searle Corporation which won the lawsuit, and it was made legal to use in our food in the US. This is the process that happens over and over. Chocolate candy used to only be allowed to be legally called chocolate if the fat came from cocoa butter. A couple years ago, Nestle sued the FDA to change this rule, and won. Now chocolate candy can have vegetable oils in place of the more expensive, natural, and healthier cocoa butter, and still be called chocolate.
I think the FDA means well, and I believe most of the FDA employees mean well, but we don't stand a chance when these corporations are spending millions to be able to cheapen our food with poisons, and we don't fight back because most of us don't even know who to fight. It's the corporations that put these poisons into our food that are the enemy. Knowledge is how we fight them. Cook food from scratch. By local. Eat seasonally. Don't support them.

Re: Aspartame has been Renamed and is Now Being Marketed as a Natural Sweetener
This is all so sickening...really.

On one hand, anyone paying attention through the years has already heard of most of the dangers listed in the article, including the 'buzz' of its manufacturer looking to have it approved as a natural sweetener.

On the other hand, I know many people who continue to consume this and other artificial sweeteners, who flat-out refuse to believe that anything is wrong with the stuff, try as I have to inform them through the years.

As I read the list of diseases mentioned, it read like the illnesses of ALL of those people. It really is ludicrous how the FDA has allowed any of this to happen.

Now with this reclassification, unless a person is aware, the foods that contain such sweeteners will be hard to determine.

This is just one more reason why it's important to keep your diet simple and 'clean'...as organic as possible. At least if you're doing the cooking, you know what you're eating.
