Quoting: Ostria1 well i found the launch of Corona, Discoverer 5, 1959 read the "about" the official announcement Finally on February 24, 1960, the following Announcement was made "official." ft was released by the Defense Department: "The mysterious object recently discovered in polar orbit around the earth probably is the capsule of the Discoverer V space vehicle launched by the United States last August 13. On the basis of analysis to date, it is believed this vehicle most probably is the ejected recovery capsule of Discoverer V launched into polar orbit in August. The refined analysis of radar returns, the Defense Department said, now indicates the mystery object is about 3 feet in diameter and 2 feet long, the size of the Discoverer V capsule. The capsule separated from its launcher August 14 according to radio telemetry information (received from the carrier rocket)." but look how the capsules looked like [link to en.wikipedia.org] Nice. It doesn't resemble the capsule, therefore an ill attempt to cover up. Do they think we are that easily deceited? ok I did a mistake at the capsules.. here are the right ones but not matching either i think go down to discoverer capsule scetch [link to abyss.uoregon.edu] Ostria |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 32129936 I dont know.. could it have been "burned" up there? And what about the lights? it is a strange story, but in a period with many top secrets. Nope, it has to be in lower orbit to be burnt by the atmosphere/friction. The lights could be a reflection of the sun, but then again, it could be something else. It could be a huge part of space debris, but then it's from an undisclosed secret project, or from something else. All I can conclude it's artificial, and not the capsule of the expalnation/cover-up story by NASA. |

Billxam User ID: 19542178 United States 01/20/2013 07:50 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Here is everything I have on this subject [link to www.northernmichigansolar.com] This is from my article on the server. It is said that in 1957 the blip of unknown origin was discovered as it was detected shadowing the sputnik 1 craft It was in a polar orbit. This object was dubbed "The Black Knight”. It was several times larger and several times heavier than anything capable of being launched with 1960 rockets. It shouldn’t have been there, but it was. In 1953, four years before the U.S.S.R. launched Sputnik I, it was sighted by Dr Lincoln La Paz of the University of New Mexico. As more reports of sightings trickled in from around the world, the U.S. Department of Defense appointed distinguished astronomer Clyde W. Tombaugh to run a search for the mystery object. He had discovered Pluto in 1930. The Pentagon never formally released the results of Dr Tombaugh's study. And no more was heard about the object until December, 1957, when Dr Luis Corralos of the Communications Ministry in Venezuela photographed it. The first modern satellite, Sputnik I, had been launched two months earlier. Dr Corralos was taking pictures of Sputnik II as it passed over Caracas. Halcyon Dayz, FCD User ID: 31033756 Netherlands 01/20/2013 08:05 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I did a quick blow up and enhancement of the image. Quoting: Useless Cookie Eater ...turned it 90 degrees as well. Looks like some kind of futuristic spacecraft Mr Cookie Monster. How would you know how such a thing would look like? Hollywood movies are not a tech reference. Don't you want to know what it is? You prefer fantasy? Halcyon Dayz, i'm still waiting for the Apollo 11 communication data rates and error correction protocols... Quoting: World_TV_Watcher Have you tried NASA? Object seems to be too big to be junk, and the images with the lights doesn't look like debris Quoting: World_TV_Watcher So how big is it, and aren't those just reflections? Most Earth observation satellites are in NEAR polar orbits. Quoting: Halcyon Dayz, FCD It's the sole reason of existence for the launch facility at Vandenburg AFB. corrected it for you One degree off isn't polar enough for you? You wouldn't want all the orbits to cross at one point, increases the chance of collision. Why does everybody think there is something magical about polar orbits? It just has a higher energy requirement than eastward orbits. The object in the picture is NOT in a polar orbit, the existence of the picture itself proofs it. Quoting: Halcyon Dayz, FCD Nonsense, polar and equatorial orbits can cross each other. Only at very high speeds. It's a photograph. Made on ordinary Kodak colour film. So NOT with a superfast shutter. If it were moving at such high speeds you'd get a streak at best. There's no indication of movement at all. And there are 6 photographs of it, I.E. it didn't move much between shots. There are several pictures and they are more or less in focus, i.e. the object's orbit closely matches that of the Orbiter. Quoting: Halcyon Dayz, FCD Most parsimonious explanation is that the object is something that came of the Orbiter. Parsimonius indeed. You don't like parsimony? It's a very useful intellectual tool. I think it's rather small and close to the camera. Quoting: Halcyon Dayz, FCD IOW space debris. Just as the caption reads: [link to eol.jsc.nasa.gov] I think it's rather big and clicks away. On what grounds? It's not, for the reasons I mentioned. The thing in the pictures is not the BKS, if there exists such a thing. Question is, why would NASA leak this picture on their own server no less..???? Quoting: Swedish Coward 29898248 "The Gateway to Astronaut Photography of Earth" [link to eol.jsc.nasa.gov] is where you can request downloads of pretty much every picture ever taken of Earth from space by NASA astronauts. They got more than a million so they're not all hosted online but can be requested from the archives. So it's not a leak, it's a feature. And they obviously don't think they've got any secrets to keep. IS IT JUST ME OR DOES THAT NOT EVEN LOOK LIKE EARTH IN ALL THOSE PICTURES??? Quoting: Dr. Charles Norris Yes, it's just you. Never seen a sunset? That's Laguna Colorado in Bolivia's Altiplano. The CIA Corona programme was classified at the time, and used the USAF's Discovery programme as a cover. The exposed films were indeed returned to Earth in little re-entry capsules. They are all gone now, in LEO there's still enough air molecules wandering around to slowly deorbit everything up there. The ISS has to have its orbit boosted every six months or so. Its all right on their website. Nothing is hidden: Quoting: Anonymous Coward 25781251 [link to eol.jsc.nasa.gov] look under STS088-724-66 to find the pic or just got to page 28 and see them all. The caption says it is space debris. space debris, yeah right.....do you beliebe in NASA? I do believe it exists, yes. They are the source of these images. Reaching for the sky makes you taller. Hi!
