I take care of an elderly woman who is 80 yrs old and she needs 24/7 care. I work 5 days a week and have the weekends off. Things are bad but if she winds up in a nursing home, then she will have to give up a lot of her property just so she can qualify for the nursing home itself or an eldercare apartment. They don't allow you to have any sort of real income they want you to forfeit everything and you live off nothing.

That's Obummer care for you: You live off nothing while they help themselves to your property and money. Then they let you starve to death or die off.

Time to go back to the old ways. Before we had all these entitlement programs, families took care of each other, sometimes with the help of private charities/churches. It's hard because all adults in the house have to work these days, but it would be less cumbersome to find a way back to self-sufficiency than risk putting yourself at the mercy of gov't automatons. Where was this man's family? Ultimately, the responsibility to ensure people have basic needs met falls on families. No one else cares.

PS - if the said family member is a lowlife douche, a thief, a pedo, etc., and lives their lives in a way that harmed others, then yeah, leave them to the state to be starved to death.
