[video] Eckhart Tolle - Did the Universe make a mistake with the ego?
He shed some new light on the whole "golden age" concept.
Sounds pretty logical to me.. at least more logical than most
story's about the golden age.. mostly is new age gibberish.

He talks about us being in the golden age somewhat thousands of years ago, and not being aware of it, then the next evolution step made it possible for us to think, we started listening to this voice and starting to identify with it (the fall), but we are now in a phase of the next step, returning to the so called "golden age" but being conscious of it! and KNOWING where we are.

Does it matter from whom the information comes if it's valuable information?
And why a "hype?" he has some very good insights in to the human ego and as long as it helps people to find their way.. why not?

The key of this is in I AM tired of this eckhart hype.
So the frustration lies from within you, not with him.

Uh, because it's all the same truth, Einstein. It will always sound similar.

Re: [video] Eckhart Tolle - Did the Universe make a mistake with the ego?
I got to the same point of frustration during my mystical discoveries, and have stalled at the mystery of the ego.

I'm attempting to find positive uses for it...once you take that stand, you can see that not unlike medicine it may all be a matter of dosage.

A little bit of ego can kickstart an entire being to action, a big amount of ego can suffocate an entire corporation to death.

It seems like a quandary, but it is more a matter of degree. Something in moderation can be quite beneficial, when overdosing on it can be deadly.

Hard to do.

The ego was the creation of the demiurge. The "fall of man" was literally the fall from a state of higher consciousness to a disconnected ego state.

This Golden Age concept is anything but "new age gibberish"!!! It is ancient knowledge. Here it is as told by Hermes:

Spirit = THE ALL; the Infinite Living Mind. Spirit is the invisible, moveable, ever active positive principle in motion.

Matter = is solidified spirit. It is the passive of negative principle.

Involution = The descent of spirit into matter; the transmutation of spirit into matter.

Evolution = Matter’s ascent/return to Spirit; the transmutation of matter back into spirit.

There are 4 Great Cycles/Ages of “human” evolution (which involves the involution of the spirit/soul).

Golden Age
= We were mostly spiritual in nature, very little matter.
= 720 Divine Years = 720 X 360 = 259,200 common years

Silver Age = Less spiritual, more matter.
= 540 Divine Years = 540 X 360 = 194,400 common years

Copper Age = Ever less spiritual and more and more matter
= 360 Divine Years = 360 X 360 = 129,600 common years

Iron Age = Spirit is now in the dense, barbarial age/state of its involution (it is now mostly matter), and became more and more gross until it reached the very lowest point of the Iron Age and then began the evolution of matter back to Spirit.
= 180 Divine Years = 180 X 360 = 64,800 common years

I always find it amazing that people without ONE clue about the Teaching of Jesus expropriate his parables to validate their particular metaphysical nonsense.

What Jesus says in the Gospel of Thomas is orders of magnitude better than what his Tolle character could cogitate in another 50 years.

Re: [video] Eckhart Tolle - Did the Universe make a mistake with the ego?
Interesting thoughts!
"The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title."

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity.

The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women
