Psychiatry is a lie... Big Pharma is Evil.... DSM-IV is a joke... Why do my emotions go up and down?

It happens. I work in the mental health field and still have emotional ups and downs. I use coping techniques to help me through, breathing exercises and trying to focus on the positive things that has happened during the day. In session with clients, I try to avoid big pharma and teach useful techniques. Having someone in your life that you to can talk with completely open and honest with helps. Let others know when you are feeling down and try to surround yourself with things that can help alleviate negative tension.

As a scholar of psychology and the Bible, there's pretty much a direct correlation between both, just different terminology.

Psychiatry is a lie though because they all believe consciousness is nothing more than electrical signals in the brain. Science rejects the concept is Spirit and Soul which is what truly drives our consciousness.

Many people who are mentally ill are actually possessed by demons and need God, not meds.

Sorry you're having the upsindowns. I went through the same thing for years.

Here are some things that worked for me.

1. Make sure you don't have thyroid problems or diabetes....they can impact moods. Epilepsy can also cause severe mood swings and psychosis....I found yeas after I had temporal lobe epilepsy (or so my psychiatrist told me). I was misdiagnosed as bipolar for many years.

2. Check for food allergies with an allergist (skin tetst and/or blood test). I found out I was allergic to corn and wheat, and eliminating those foods helped even out my moods a lot. Cant afford an allergist? Do a 1 month elimination diet instead,

3. I used self-hypnosis /creative visiualization and imagined myself as a bouncy red ball, against a mood graph, bouncing myself out of depression (when I felt blah) or floating down to a lower level when I was too high. I practiced that self-hypnosis visualization. I practiced that for 2 weeks and soon I was able to bounce myself out of depressions. I also used the control panel visualization (turning knobs and dials to control my mood), a scuba diver visualization (keeping myself ini the middle of the ocean).

4. I learned about homeopathy, and some homeopathic remedies really helped even me out. Emotional Healing with Homeopathy is a great book! you have to get the right remedy for them to really help, but the remedies are super cheap and you can buy them in the homeopathic section of any healthy food store.

5. Do more things you love doing, and do more of that. Stop doing things that bring you down.

I tend to agree with the first couple of sentiments of your thread title.

Traumatic brain injury incl. but not limited to hemorrhagic stroke (lucky me)

Mood disorder (mixed features)

Pseudobulbar affect (often mistaken for a mood disorder)

Quite a few meds including but not limited to psychotropic antipsychotics, mood stabilizers, and antidepressants.

Guess what?

I don't take them. There are only two meds I'm prescribed that I will take. Neither being in an aforementioned classification nor narcotic.

I'm not advising anyone to avoid taking medications. We can only do what is right for us. Some healthcare workers do care, some do not. Do any of them always have all the right answers? Does anyone?

Mental illness is simply medical (structural and neurophysiological) with behavioral symptoms.
