Yeah this is really weird. Lived here for so long, first time I've ever heard of this sort of thing going on here in Southern California - sea lions and especially sea lion pups showing up everywhere, looking lost and sick and all.

It's really strange. Downright creepy if you ask me.

Couple this with that sighting a month or two ago of that gigantic dolphin pod.

Kinda makes you wonder ... do they know something we don't???? It's like they know what's coming, and the sea animals like dolphins and sea lions are either crying out for help, or trying to get the hell outta Dodge!!!

I seem to remember signing an online petition recently (past month) hat had to do with the extremely loud sonar testing that the Navy was planning to conduct in the Pacific. In the past when they have done those tests it has caused marine mammals to beach themselves with blown out ear drums and hemorrhaging. Maybe it's Navy tests that are causing this.

They havent been known to affect sea lions in this manner.

OK OP... I live in Camarillo, CA about 10 miles form this very spot in Malibu. I'm going to see if I can get a geiger counter and take some video.... don't know if I can pick one up tomorrow somewhere around here but I'll try.

Ya I'm sure some smart fellow over there had the equipment and the idea. But are they letting people get close enough to do readings on the sea lions in the area? Ifso whoever has the means to do this should before they try to sweep this under the rug.
