I guess society (or just google, but probably society) values the founder of the first modern labor union more than Easter.

People just loooove that kind of stuff don't they?

So Google has Cesar Chavez recognized on Easter Sunday? My guess is that Eric Schmidt is following the wishes of the White House. In 2011, President Obama released a statement proclaiming March 31 “Cesar Chavez Day,” declaring, “I call upon all Americans to observe this day with appropriate service, community, and educational programs to honor Cesar Chavez’s enduring legacy.” Read more: [link to dailycaller.com]

NOTE: A switch to Bing.com shows Easter eggs and is more aligned to where my head is this morning. Happy Easter!

And this year...

For Immediate Release March 29, 2013
Presidential Proclamation -- Cesar Chavez Day

CESAR CHAVEZ DAY, 2013
- - - - - - -
BY THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

A PROCLAMATION

Every year, Americans all across our country pause on March 31 to remember a man who made justice his life's calling. Growing up the son of migrant farm workers who lost everything in the Great Depression, Cesar Chavez knew hard work and hardship from an early age. He labored long hours for little pay, taking odd jobs to help his family get by and forgoing a formal education to follow the crop cycles. But where others might have given up or given in, Cesar Chavez never lost hope in the power of opportunity. He lived each day by a belief as old as America itself -- the idea that with courage and determination, any of us can reach beyond our circumstances and leave our children something better.

More than anything, we remember Cesar Chavez for lending voice to the voiceless. When no one seemed to care about the invisible farm workers who picked our Nation's food, beset by poverty and cheated by growers, a courageous man dedicated to dignity stood up and spoke out. Alongside Dolores Huerta and fellow organizers, he rallied a generation of workers around "La Causa," marching and fasting and boycotting for fair pay and protections on the job. They fought through decades of setbacks and fierce resistance. But through every trial, Cesar Chavez refused to curb his ambitions or scale back his hope. Step by step, march by march, he helped lead a community of farm workers to make the change they sought.

Last paragraph...IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this twenty-ninth day of March, in the year of our Lord two thousand thirteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and thirty-seventh.

Note the "Year of our LORD".

So i guess "our LORD" lost Easter Sunday to Chavez.

great thread OP.

Google is not a force for good in the world, but for the

holding up of wrong.

It tries each holiday to downplay any sense of morality, or good, or love of country, or God.

Every time.

That is why I never use Google, Bing works fine, as do other search engines like Dogpile.

Google has set out to ignore God, and that is the truth.

And for you morans out there,

this issue is not about chavez, he can be showcased by google at any time.

It IS about google's systematic, repeated ignoring of Christianity and morality.

Don't tell me this is about Chavez. It is about the microscopic American flag google showed on the Fourth of July.

Like leaving a 2-cent tip, it is worse than no tip at all.

google hates America and God,

look at any Christian or patriotic holiday on google.

It is definitely a force for evil. And as for its tracking, well that is just one more facet of why it is best avoided.

Why link Morality with Christianity.

Is it moral to instill institutionalized guilt on people?

Is it moral to create a feeling of separation between people and God and make them feel like they will never atain godhood unless they follow that doctrine?

Is it moral to instill shame on children when they're exploring their own sexual reality?(masturbation)

Is it moral to tell people when they ask questions that all their answers are int he bible and use spiritual abuse in doing that?

I laugh a bible belts christians. They don't realize half of the bible (king james) was put in there by popes in the 1400's and know nothing about astrotheology.

There's nothing spiritual about christian religion.
It's actually based on constantly trying to be perfect and denying or feeling guilty about your imperfections.

it does nothing to create real intimacy with others and create a real relational spiritual experience, nor does it live in truth or love.

It's just an institution.

The only ones i respect and admire in the christian faith are those humanitarians who go out there to help the needy and missionaries.

Other than that, most folks are hypocrites and so self deluded to ask that google honor "their" religion.

The whole passion of the christ is supposed to be modelled after the story of the Egyptian god Osiris. Chrisyianity is based on old pagan traditions....especieally the Easter spring festival of fertility. Easter is always the first Sunday after the first full moon after the spring equinox....cant get more pagan than that.
