UFO Over Dunedin, New Zealand. 16 May 2013

Video or it didn't happen

Here's near where I was on google maps. The ufo was first spotted above the harbour to the south west of my location. Moved south west down the harbour over South Dunedin then looked like it moved south east up and away.

Lots happens, whether there is a camera on or not.

I'm not saying there isn't any reasonable explanation, I'm just baffled that anything I come up with doesn't seem to fit my observations.

Also, I'm interested if anyone else saw it.

I rang my flatmate (I was at dinner at a friends house), and he could see it from home. We live near here: [link to maps.google.co.nz (secure)]

So he helped me determine where and which way it was going and its height.

Thank you. I hope some one does too. I recorded it with my phone, but won't be able to post it until tomorrow. But it's a very shitty camera so will most likely be useless.

Although, since I am posting on a Conspiracy, lunatic fringe, UFO forum, I do expect some flack.

it was satelite debris, chinese lantern or swamp gas buddy, ufos don t exist anymore.

Fienx, me and my partner saw it too, and was exactly how you described it. I'm a pretty well educated guy and a sceptic with regard to this sort of stuff, but I couldn't explain it either. The other thing was that it seemed quite low, but made no noise.

I saw it also.
I had just gotten home before 9PM and jumped in the shower.
On pulling my curtains in my bedroom I saw this bright orange light. It had shades of rotating white in it also, and it was slowly moving over the hospital. It was very bright.

It carried on to the Octogon (looking South) and hovered for at least two minutes right above the centre of the Octogan (or DCC building) at an estimated altidude of 1500 feet, from where it turned left (Eastward) and headed in a south-easterly direction climbing out over the South end of Andersons Bay and carried out to sea.
It just got fainter and fainter.

I first saw it at 8:55 PM, and went outside to get a better look, where I text my mates at 9:03 PM and watched it dissappear about 9:27 PM. Photos didn't really turn out, as it was distant when I went outside to look at it.
Pedestraions were also looking at it, and one Asian lady was filming it on her phone.

It was pretty cool! It just went right in front of our place.

Appears to have been some UFO sightings previously, and also a report of a radiation cloud????

What radiation? Does anyone know anything about this?

We've been seeing them for over a week now every night. Central Arizona USA here. We've ruled out anything conventional and our conclusions are inconclusive. Let's just keep watching, shall we? :)

Otago University is located in Dunedin?
Isn't it the country's leading research university?

Logic may indicate that if 'visitors' were to visit (oh the pun) that they would establish contacts with staff in such a facility?
Especially within medical facilities?

A report about mass sightings near Christchurch this month, with video.

Residents at Christchurch, New Zealand were surprised upon seeing mysterious lights in the night skies.

One witness said that she and her husband noticed mysterious lights in the night skies of Bryndwr at approximately 8’oclock. She detailed that they were leaving their property at around 8’oclock on Aorangi Road when her husband looked for traffic to south direction. He witnessed approximately 12 lights moving at the same speed. At first, her husband thought they were fireworks but changed his mind when they remained bright orange in colour and moving in formation.

The couple saw the lights moving north in two groups. The pair stopped their car engine and went outside to get a better look of the strange lights. They heard no sound coming from the lights as they moved steadily and slowly.

Ummmmm that's CHRISTCHURCH NOT DUNEDIN!!!!!

Yeah seen a very bright orange light tonight and last night seen around 10-10:30pm. Kinda hovering around then moving quite fast and definitely not in a identifiably straight line. Would think it was a helicopter but Im sure helicopters dont fly round as a bright orange lights. Would really like to know what it actually is.

I saw it also. I was on the hill in St Clair. I had just returned home as saw it as I was getting out of my car. It was just as you described, the exact same colour as a street light I would say, and quite large. It moved smoothly (wasn't darting around going in and out of vision) and moved in an easterly direction over Waverly and presumably out off the east coast. It was not a Chinese Lantern, and was not a plane. I wonder now if it could have been a helicopter with only a surface floodlight going or something?? I really have no other explanation.
