A few minutes ago, it finally occurred to me to check Usenet for any mention of wingmakers or Mark Hempel, the site owner.

I found a lot more than I expected.

In one post to an artist's group, he says the site took him three years to create, he made everything on it that you see, and that it is an idea for a movie or tv series.

He calls it an IMAF. Immersive Multimedia Art Forms.

He posted that to alt.art.video on the 24th of this month.

On the 20th of this month, he sent a message to several other groups, (spammed them really,) saying that he had just found a website that spoke of an alien race called Wingmakers and asked if anyone else had ever heard of them.

He went on to claim that there was a lot of info on the site, including music, but he couldn't get the music to work for him.

If nothing else, that alone proves his dishonesty.

He owns the site, and acts as though he stumbled across it.

Anyway, thought I'd let you know what I found out.

The guy did a brilliant job, but it disappoints me that people will go to such lengths to fool other people.

When some truth of some matter finally does come along, we'll all be too skeptical to even believe it after having been fooled so many times before.

CAUS is no longer interested in receiving e-mails about WingMakers. The website is beautifully done but the evidence suggests that whomever created it...is from this time period. Thus it is time for CAUS to move on...December 7th is getting closer.
