Gen. Cartwright - Obama's Favorite General Now Under the Gun for Leaking Stuxnet
Legal sources tell NBC News that the former second-highest-ranking officer in the U.S. military is now the target of a Justice Department investigation into an alleged leak of classified information about a covert U.S. cyberattack on Iran’s nuclear program.

According to legal sources, retired Marine Gen. James “Hoss” Cartwright, the former vice chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, has been notified that he’s under investigation for allegedly leaking information about a massive attack using a computer virus named Stuxnet on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Gen. Cartwright, 63, becomes the latest alleged leaker targeted by the Obama administration, which has already prosecuted or charged eight individuals under the Espionage Act.

He leaked it because Barry told him to leak it. The Mossad must be really pissed at this guy. This is a cover story to protect him.

Stuxnet is so old news.. But I'm glad its finally getting out "officially"..

It's only a matter of time before they deploy it here in the US and force us onto Internet2.
If you think the Internet is being watched, regulated and destroyed, wait Til you see Internet2.

The Internet and all domains will be owned by a few corps, a monopoly if you will, and no free speech will be allowed. Only things that they want published will be. Say goodbye to the interwebs. And watch as many live leaks and cat vids as you can, while it lasts..
Guilty: is what our graves will read, no year no family. We did nothing, to stop the murder of people just like us..

Justice Department targets general in leak investigation

...The revelation, which was first reported by NBC News, means that an administration that has already launched more leaks prosecutions than all of its predecessors combined is now focused on one of its own. Since Obama took office, the Justice Department has prosecuted or charged eight people for alleged violations of the Espionage Act.

Cartwright was a regular participant in meetings of top national security officials at the White House and was thought to have significant influence with Obama before being passed over as a possible candidate to become chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff...

Yes - Stuxnet affected Seimens operating systems. Iran had Seimens, so did Germany, so did Japan.

Stuxnet was reported in Japan in December 2010.

Tepco, for reasons that have remained unexplained, took down it's backup systems in January 2011.

March 2011 - tsunami hits. Reactors survive quake & tsunami and all hell breaks loose after they attempt to turn on back-up systems (Stuxnet affected centrifuges during re-starts; going to back-up is Re-start)

Reactors meltdown & both Japan & Germany take all of their reactors off-line (the two countries that use Seimens operating systems are the only two countries that shut down all their reactors in response to Fukushima & kept them off-line)

Stuxnet has a built in kill switch; a turn off date. Japan begins restarting it's reactors one week after that date.

Pretty obvious, isn't it?

Part of the Stuxnet Leak - The Israelis made a modification that caused Stuxnet to go rogue....

@emptywheel That Israelis modified code and caused Stuxnet to let it get out. Doesn't match forensics.

Here's the story which Cartwright is accused of leaking -

NBC vs ABC

Cartwright retired from US Marines in 2011. He is now the Harold Brown Chair of Defense Policy Studies at the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank. He is also a defense consultant for ABC News.

About CSIS - Several of the principals were "Cold Warriors" and made a little industry out of finding "communist influence" around the world. During the war against Nicaragua, CSIS produced several documents "proving" a communist plot, etc. For many years, CSIS was also seen as a think tank where right-wing "officials-in-waiting" could wait until their next appointment in government.
