In Lakota it would be pronounced, Wambli Mani, “Walking Eagle”. President Obama has done some good things for us (mostly shovel read projects), it created lots of jobs on the rez, I personally don’t think he has done anything to earn a Indian name, also he would have to go to a honoring ceremony to have the name bestowed upon him, it was not given in the correct way. I have in-laws with the last name Walking Eagle; it is there family last name, just like you have a last name. It doesn’t mean a injured bird, it is just a name.  |
