i have felt earthquakes on the new madrid that were actually a few states away (6's i think) both of them i was laying face down on my bed after getting off work haha. the one lasted for quite a while, long enough for me to lift my head up, not feel it, put my head back down and i could feel it again. It felt big to me, but no one else i know felt anything. checked online, there was one just when that happened. maybe you felt something very subtle but do to your relaxed/not focused on anything in particular state, you were able to notice it??
