I think the OP meant to say that Betelgeuse would have already gone supernova 640 years ago exactly on the date of May 27th. In other words, the OP meant to say that we will see Betelgeuse go nova on May 27th 2014 in our skies, which would logically imply that on that date, Betelgeuse would have exploded 640 years ago, or around 640 years before May 27 2014, which would be May 27 1374 AD.

Honestly I would doubt that, based on my extremely strong feelings. However if I'm wrong, and that doesn't happen, within the time frames I've stated above, I think it would most definitely happen within the month of May this year, at a date that is earlier than 27th May 2014.

I bet my May 2 8956 - May 9 11493 hunch will turn out to be much, much closer to the real date than what you're feeling.

When it doesn't happen in May or in any other month this year I hope you understand that feelings are great when it comes to caring about someone but they are not to be trusted when it comes to predicting actual, physical events.
