Click on "2007 Spring Kids" and any other album that interests you. [ link to photos.yahoo.com] For those of you who don't know, I've been raising goats since 2004. Knowing we are moving into the "Last Days," I decided to make husbandry part of my "Preparations." It has turned into quite a hobby and God has blessed this endeavour. Our herd is about ten years old, and through agressive culling we have managed to produce consistent meat goats that are able to withstand the wetter climate of the mid-Atlantic states of the USA (the hooves don't cause as many problems). They are also very resistent to parasites, which drastically cuts down on the maintenance. Nitro (see his album), is the designated sire of our herd. He is of a breed called Kiko; his bloodline comes from New Zealand. Or main gig is to provide young nanny goats (nanny kids) to first-time goat farmers as well as to experienced goat herders who need replacement nannies for their commercial herd. If you have any comments or questions about husbandry, I'll be happy to answer. peace SO |
