Re: HAVE YOU EVER WALKED OUT OF A MOVIE?
Yes. of course. Why? Movie not as advertised or just lousy and objectionable for one reason or another. As for a refund. Hell yes. Just ask for it nicely and then get loud and insist on the manager being summoned if the grunt on the door can't give you the money back. Simple. This is basic humanity 101. Where in hell have you been? Under a rock?

Re: HAVE YOU EVER WALKED OUT OF A MOVIE?
When "The Company Of Wolves" came out, all my friends liked it and were flabbergasted when I stood up and walked out. Some of these same friends also couldn't understand when I walked out on the first episode of "Seinfeld" people made plans to stay home and watch.

Not a movie, but a stage play of Angels in America. It was after the scene with simulated gay boofoo sex in the park that I got up and left.

Call me homophobe if you will but I really ain't afraid of them. I just don't care to watch them.

Re: HAVE YOU EVER WALKED OUT OF A MOVIE?
Walking out of a movie is retarded. I always know enough about the movie before I waste my time and money to see it to know whether or not I would need to walk out.

and did you get a refund at the box office?

I will walk out of movies that make fun of God (any god) and I will walk out of movies that have homosexuals being intimate.

I've gotten a refund once, but I'll just go into another theatre room and watch whatever else is playing.

Yup. several times. too much violence.
I go to movies for entertainment. I'm not entertained by violence. It doesn't make me feel good. I don't like to be scared.

Re: HAVE YOU EVER WALKED OUT OF A MOVIE?
It was that Harrison Ford movie, where the wife dies in the plane crash with her lover and he hooks up with the lover's WIFE. It was too weird.

I got up three times, but the person I was with begged me to stay. I fell asleep instead.

I looked it up. It was called Random Hearts. Thank God Indy's back.

Ford's character was named, get this: Dutch Van Der Broek. I know, he lost a bet or something. That's how Lucas has him by the balls for SW stuff.

Re: HAVE YOU EVER WALKED OUT OF A MOVIE?
Only once, in Reno. I was 15 and lied to get in, because you had to be 17, back when the ratings were brand new. The original Exorcist was rated properly in my case .. the first time her head turned around, I was gone before it returned to it's center . .. WTF WAS THAT SHIT?!?!??

My stepmom had the novel at home, and when I read what I 'missed' I really didn't regret my rapid departure.
I've just realized that the staff/ticketperson must have gotten off on that, 'here she comes, and there she goes . . ! And that's how ratings really work

Moulin Rouge -- What a crapfest!!!

I am a chick and I LOVE musicals. I'm a big fan of Nicole Kidman and Ewan McGregor, but I only made through about 20 minutes of that celluloid atrocity.

Should have walked out of:

The Other Sister
Batman & Robin
The Butterfly Effect
The Orignal.

one of the Star Treks was so bad I almost walked out. it was so bad it made me cry. I stayed out of respect for what Star Trek used to be.

Re: HAVE YOU EVER WALKED OUT OF A MOVIE?
I almost walked out of the first Rocky Horror Picture Show bc I was covered in someone's drink and rice from the crazy party going on, but held in there. It was the first release. What a party!

Then when some crazy anime of Lord of the Rings in the 70's came out it was basically paintings flashing and someone reading the book exerpts. Gawd that was awful.

Re: HAVE YOU EVER WALKED OUT OF A MOVIE?
forgot, two other movies i saw this year

king corn and sean penn's war, inc.

for the poster who asked, nicely, the dvd's i own:

lawrence of arabia
lotr (complete trilogy)
excalibur
last of the mohicans

wiling to buy:

bounty w/mel gibson
kingdom of heaven

i had lots of movies on vhs tape. still own them. tho can't watch em now

once they upgraded to dvd, i made a conscious decision not to replace
unless it was really truly classic and worthy of the money/shelfspace

had braveheart on dvd but gave it away as a gift

not kidding, i will not subject myself to anything like rubbish. ever again.

i refuse to be traumatized in a multiplex seat. or go out of boredom

Yes - Natural Born Killers - too violent - and got a refund.

Also - Texas Chainsaw III. No refund. Wife couldn't take it.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 532626

sorry man but your an idiot? you should know by the titles and rating what your getting yourself into?

I have only once gotten a refund at a movie, only because the projection was fucked up..it was unbearable.

I have sat through some stinkers, but always stay.

every movie, no matter how bad always has a perk.

YES, I walked out of the movie Battlefield Earth. That has to be the worst movie ever. I thought it was stupid and boring.
