[quote:Anonymous Coward 887555:MV8xMDEwNjI0XzE1OTEyNzMxXzQwMTQxQTNB] You need Sodium; I don't think you need the chloride. In fact I have a very bad reaction to the chloride part and cannot use it. There is enough natural sodium in your food that you really do not need to add more. My Dad lived to be 95 and for the last 40 years of his life he used no table salt. Most resturants use too much salt. Likewise the prepared foods you buy at the grocery store contain too much salt. I bought some Corned Beef Hash in a can a few years ago; it was so salty that I could not eat it. Likewise I thought that those egg yolks they make for Babies in that little jar would be good to have for Lunch. It too was too salty to eat. What are they doing to our kids with this sort of crap? What is so hard about just having Salt on the tables?, which I believe they do, with a notice that if they want salt on the food, just add it to suit your own taste. [/quote]

Some New York City chefs and restaurant owners are taking aim at a bill introduced in the New York Legislature that, if passed, would ban the use of salt in restaurant cooking.
The legislation, which Assemblyman Felix Ortiz, D-Brooklyn, introduced on March 5,
would fine restaurants $1,000 for each violation.
I'm sure this will go nowhere...but seriously...
