First off. Is there anything else that would cause a rainbow type sheen across the top of water???
I live in SE Louisiana. We have a small pond in our back yard that was virtually empty from months of drought. Well in the past week we have had major rainfall. So I walked out yesterday evening, just to check it out, And with the setting sun shining on the pond through the trees, I could see a rainbow sheen, covering the surface of the pond.
The water that is in it now, is totally from this past weeks rainfall, there is no other drainage into it.
Is there anything else, that is natural, other then oil that would cause a rainbow sheen like that????
Im going to try this evening again, when the sun is at the right angle, to see if I can get any pics. Not sure if it will show up in them or not.

I wasnt able to get photos the first evening. The next day, it was pretty much gone.
Well today, we had another round of heavy showers. I went out this evening, and was able to get some pics. Its kind of hard to make it out, because the only time you can see it, is when the setting sun is on the pond.
