I was wondering how much it costs to build a home these days.
Homes in my city cost about $1,200,000 - 1,500,000... these are the style of homes I want.
Property costs around $700,000-$800,000 to find a shitbox rancher to demolish in a good location.
Is it economically feasible to build a house instead of spending 1.5 million in buying a house?
How much does it cost per square foot? And how long does it take? Any tips on finding an architect, interior designer, contractor/builder?
I heard in a lecture, Lawyers are the least likely professionals to build their own home, just because they realize how many problems arise in the building process. Is there any truth to these statements?
These are the style of home I want to build for myself and loved ones:

If you notice the prices, they are all over 1.3 million dollars.
To buy a parcel of land to develop, it would cost anywhere to find a shitty house on a development lot in the range of 750-850K.
So you're basically left with 600-700K to build your house.
What should I plan on doing.
Thanks.
