In magnets one end is the north and one end is the south. With magnets we can change the poles or take the poles out so it will not be a magnet anymore, because of this, we know that the metal is not the real magnet, the magnet is the substance which is circulating in the metal. Each particle in the substance is an individual magnet by itself.
In a permanent magnet, these individual magnets are circulating in the metal in great numbers. The north pole magnets are coming out of the end of the south pole, the south pole magnets coming out of the north pole, and then they running around to the other pole and back in to its’ own end over and over again.
The Earth itself is a giant permanent magnet. This is the reason we can make a compass by taking a small piece of metal, imparting magnets into it so that it will always point north. Since the needle is a freely rotating magnet it is guided by the stream of individual magnets circulating from the earth’s poles.
The north and south pole magnets are cosmic forces. They hold together this earth, the solar system, and our interaction with the Milky Way galaxy, and the Milky Ways interaction with its’ greater cosmic force.
This is the reason the moon does not come crashing down to Earth. The Moon and Earth have like poles on the same sides so they keep themselves apart. And this is the reason only one side of the moon will ever face earth, for if the moon were rotated so that it’s north end would be in the south side, it would crash into Earth.
