[quote:Anonymous Coward 961879:MV8xMDkwMzI3XzE3Mzk3NzY3X0E1NjcxMEQz] [quote:TraderRob] There's at least two plumes. One is on the fail machine, the other is in a crater with some pipes similar to the dispersant pipes. I'm thinking when the bop failed, the seabed ruptured. Maybe not because of the bop, but because of the same thing that made the bop fail.... going too deep. I think the stories of faults in the bop etc are a cover story for making a big fuck up. A bad workman always blames his tools, as the saying goes. Obviously, something is going on at that location -- but why would they have cameras on this and broadcast it live for all to see if they are trying to cover it up? It seems to me that they were inspecting the dispersant line to try to figure out why it was not flowing -- come across this crater with at least two broken pipes -- a plume in the background-- and then the video goes dead. It is as if they were not expecting this -- did not know about it -- and reacted after they realized what was going on.
Geeze I told you all what I saw last night and no one but Trader Rob believed me. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. My screen said Recording Failure before it went dead.
Not sure what is going on here... BP Oil Spill footage from 6/5/10. The only leak is supposed to be on the top of the BOP where BP has the Top Cap. I had been watching the Rober 'BOA Deep C' all evening as it was on the sea floor and swimming in a cloud all evening. The description on the bottom of the screen said it was tasked with 'Dispersant Line Inspection'
Then, it came across a broken pipe and a crater. The camera on this Rover is not high quality -- but you can clearly see a large plume in the distance. After a minute, the task changed to 'Original Plume Location inspection.'
Shortly after -- the feed went dead... as of this writing it still sayd 'Oroginal Plume Location Inspection' but the screen is green!
I recorded this -- watch it unfold!
To clear up a major issue being raised on this thread. The depth of 1,512 is in METERS not FEET. Some Rovers report in feet - this one reports in METERS. 1,512 meters is 4,963 feet. I have attached another clip that clearly shows a broken pipe on the sea floor. Something happened at that location that caused a crater, broken pipes and a plume.
