Serious question.
They obviously realized early on they were not going to be able to
contain or control the situation.
The sea floor/bedrock is obviously broke and leaking in numerous locations.
[There isn't a 'logically believable' explanation for this!]
All the ships disappeared/left the immediate area the other day.
There was a 'no fly zone' over the area the other day.
'Nuking' the hole would certainly break/shatter bedrock.
Would the do it?
