Original Message Paranoia and a failure to hold onto her childhood fame may have forced Amanda Bynes' abrupt retirement from acting this week, according to reports.

Bynes, best known for her roles as a child actress on Nickelodeon, made headlines when she announced on Twitter she would be retiring from acting at the age of 24.

"I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it," she wrote, before later posting: "I know 24 is a young age to retire but you heard it here first I've #retired".

But an article published today on The Daily Beast website claims it is more of a case of Hollywood dumping Bynes, rather than the other way around.
