[quote:Anonymous Coward 680963:MV8xMTEzNTg2XzIyNDEzMzcwXzhFODlFN0NE] [quote:Anonymous Coward 1264006] [quote:breezy] [quote:childoflight] What do you make of this? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/other_sports/horse_racing/9395743.stm
I always thought that if you were standing on the ground, you were grounded from electrical shock..unless touching something metal..or wet...never gave a thought to wet ground being a danger from below, however I'm sure the horses leads or bridles contain metal pieces too..however it seems perceptions as to what's possible in this world are changing.
When drive-in movies started in the US, people were still using buggies and horses for transportation. At some of the new outdoor theaters you'd see both cars, horses and buggies and people sitting around who had walked, not owning either form of transportation. Electric wires were run on the ground from the projector area in the rear of the parked cars and buggies into speakers around the screen at the front. In Kentucky one movie night a horse peed directly on one of the electric wires and bolted with buggy and riders attached, running into other buggies and cars and eventually ran through the screen. Shut down the show that night.
Wouldn't have wanted to be the horse or the people in the buggy..and we all know that water does conduct electricity, and the horse peed right on the electric wire...moisture+electric=shocking experience mmmmhum....bet he didn't pee for a while..but then, kinda wonder how long it took him to come to a stop?
