Thanks for posting this AC. Where has Woodie been?
Calling Woodie, c'mon in please. Discussion from another glp thread about the poles: [quote:Anonymous Coward 1283265] [quote:Monkeyfister] Memphis Light Water and Gas (MLGW) is the area's Utility company. They have been working for the past several years to retrofit, and update their systems to meet seismic codes. It's a major, multi-year project called "MLGW-- Structurally Sound." Older, less-stable electric line towers are being replaced, or retro-fitted. These wooden towers are temporary line holders, which will allow MLGW to keep electricity flowing while the new towers get placed, anchored, and re-wired.
seems like double work. why not set up the new towers immediately parallel to the old ones and switch the wire as you go, instead of waisting all that wood? and that would hardly qualify for extra speed censorship. sorry don't buy it.
http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1480318/pg5#24391153 Please note that the new, very tall poles going up are WOOD, not metal. Woodie, are the new poles in Florida made of wood? Y'all recall that Augie/Synthia eats/corrodes metals and that the BeePee dude's video showed it eating through a stainless steel tank. A lot of our power poles around the Southeast are wood because we have so much wood available, but all high-tension transmission towers are made of metal. What's up? Ideas ...
