[quote:Anonymous Coward 1111604:MV8xMTEzNTg2XzI0NDI4NTgzXzY3RTQxRUUx] From briefcases - [quote:Blue ET 1148411] More research on AUgie I had been told fire will kill it, I thought then that it could not survive the oil refining process but I discovered the even temperatures used to crack heavy oil into more usable types seldom reaches temperatures that exceed 1000oc would this be enough I thought, no sir even a Bunsen Burner flame is 1300 to 1600°C and propane closer to 1900oC so maybe internal combustion engines might kill it but not the refining process.
I am not sure of the pressures or temperatures involved in the separation of polymer chains in crude, when making plastics. Some types require large amounts of refining. But, if below the threashold where the organism can be stopped/killed, the polymers might indeed go right in to the plastics in use every day. All around us, and in us too. Everywhere.
