According to the thessis above, her man could have gone on a covert mission exploring these "rivers" and labyrinths and could not return coz the "mission" never finished and is still ongoing ....

The caverns may well be dissolved salt domes, veins and pillows.

If they are all connected, then they would become one long underwtaer cavern. These may have been used by military for various means, and I think would need to be pressurised to remain stable? Wouldnt they? That would require a loche system I think, otherwise you'd have pressure differences resulting in collapses.

In fact half of waht SQ was commenting on now makes a tonne more sense, including what China was doing on the floor of the Kara sea in the Arctic.

Need to ponder that before commenting more.

You would be right about the pressurisation .. but how would they do that ? Cant get my head round that one. What is a loche-system ?
