Frakture zones are weak zones with lot of seismic activity and EQ are indicators of weakness in the lithosphere.
The whole south pacific is an [u]area of hydrothermal vents/volcano's[/u] --->  thus a weak crust/thin and new crust. The whole PINK area around these islands are [u]trenches[/u].

BLUE NEGATIVE GRAVITY ANOMALY 
A blue-turquoise area is at the base of the Puerto Rico trench, the deepest part of the North Atlantic.

Hudson Bay one of the 3 blue area's :
