[quote:SouthernLight:MV8xMTEzNTg2XzIwMDE0MjU1XzVDQ0U3MDcx] [quote:6 String Woodie] <snipped for brevity> bites to humans have shown increased cases of candida albicans in humans with symptoms of burning skin and inflammed hands and feet showing red and purple color to the skin, not in the area of the initial bite. the candida is difficult to treat and traditional means are not showing positive results. there are no know cases in mammals at this time and studies are ongoing. another strange thing in these specialized migrating insects is their waste. an unknown fungus is in the waste byproduct as well as trace rare minerals. there is further tests on this and no conclusions are being drawn at this stage of study. Great find ! still trying to figure out that connection until I hear more. Great Job COF
Wow! This certainly explains some things! We had rain this year, good but not unusually so... not nearly enough to have the kind of mold and fungus growth seen. I had to wash the kitchen cabinet Doors with bleach several times in the last 3 months to kill the gray green mold! Not natural in a desert climate, not natural at All! Saw a clerk just yesterday at the local quick stop with exactly what is described too... purplish blotching across her neck and down one arm. When asked about it, she said it burned & itched like crazy and started with a bug bite. The week before, I had horrid rashes on both arms, but I assumed I had caught it from this "unspecified" skin condition two of my pets have developed. (A note for sufferers... nothing helped this rash until I started treating the critters with "Fung-A-Way", put out by Horsman's Dream. Got it on my arms when I sprayed the cat and it helped before I could wash it off... so I used it on myself. Took three days to fix the problem on me... the cat is still pulling out his hair.) I couldn't find the original post of this (for the link). If anyone can remember the page or have seen more on this, I'd appreciate a heads up. Indeed, Woodie, this is some very weird shit! .
