TAMPA - Nearly a dozen families evacuated their homes this morning after a sinkhole opened in their condominium complex's parking lot, near the University of South Florida campus.

The sinkhole was reported at 6:09 a.m. today, Hillsborough County Fire Rescue Chief Frank Fernandez said.

The Tampa Bay Chapter of the American Red Cross is helping four of the families find temporary housing.
