[quote:nomuse (NLI) 1040401:MV8xMTM4Mjg4XzE4MjgwODE2X0IyMTBERTgy] [quote:Anonymous Coward 1029592] I will let history stand. I just want people think before they annihilate it. Human life forms went to the damn moon. Why is that so impossible to believe? It's not that far away. If we stop believing it happened, we will stop thinking it's possible and return to some dark age mentality? What we believe can be done has a lot to do with what we actually accomplish. I have to wonder if this history devaluation was done to the engineering geniuses who inhabited Baalbek, Lebanon and built Puma Punku. When all the the old fellas that took part in the space race succumb to the afterlife, there will be no more hearing it from the horses mouth. [/quote] Pretty much. Same people who think that the best and brightest engineers on the planet (German and American and others), backed by a whole bunch of money, couldn't figure out how to get to the Moon (and apparently couldn't figure out how to make a short film without fucking it up, either): Also think the best civil engineers of the ancient world, with decades of experience in developing building technology behind them and battalions of low-cost labor to do the work, were incompetent to build a monument. I mean, cripes, the technology available to build Hagia Sophia was not that much more advanced than that available at the time of the Pyramids. They still don't have alloy steels or power tools or cranes or CAD design systems or laser surveying tools. But, hell, how often do you see the retards claiming the great cathedrals of the world were built by aliens? It's an attitude of "people are all as dumb as I am, and if I can't manage to finish my education and move on from manning a register at K-mart, then there is no way anyone else can actually invent, build, explore, or do any of the spectacular wonderful things they claim to have done."
