[quote:Anonymous Coward 1173729:MV8xMTQ0NzIyXzIwOTU1NzQwX0E3RThFOTZE] [quote:Anonymous Coward 1186544] :hiding: Where are you all hiding? Any comments? For the poster inquiring about Thyroid Replacement Options. This from Dr. Brownsteins book. Angela, age 25, was taking Armour Thyroid (half a grain/day) for Hashimoto's disease and hypothyroidism. Although she felt better on the thyroid medication, she still had complaints of aches and pains as well as fatigue. Upon changing her thyroid medication to Nature-Throid (half grain/day), all of her symptoms improved within one week. "I knew I did not feel 100% on the Armour thyroid, but I was better. It took seven days before the Nature-Thyroid kicked in. I woke up one day and all my aching and fatigue was gone. I couldn't believe it," she said. Armour Thyroid and Nature-Throid are both desiccated porcine thyroid medications. The only differance between the two medications is the filler content. Armour Thyroid has cornstarch in it while Nature-Throid does not. He goes on to say that sometimes just changing the brand of a medication makes all the difference. Hope that helps someone..... [/quote] I have hashimoto's.... and I am allergic to pork. Armour helped for a while until the allergy kicked in. Levothyroxine seems to be the best. I barely experience the issues when I am eating well and am thin. When I don't eat well, put on weight, the thyroid is worse. Now trying to take off weight again hoping that will make a difference. If pharmacists and medical facilities ran short of Thyroxin what would you take to replace it? I think we had better start invetigating other sources of medicines... There is the possibility of no drugs and tht could be serious for many......
