It is hard for me to believe that once we live in the Millenial Kingdom on earth and Christ rules the nations, people will still rebel, argue with his methods of rein and conspire once agaisnt to fight GOD.
But this article says that is what exactly will happen...
The recent discourse on the Restoration and the Seven Dispensations brought a question to mind regarding the Kingdom Age: What makes the Millennium end in failure and judgment?
A. The millennium, like the six dispensations before it, will end in failure because even after a 1000 year period that will begin with everyone being a believer, with the Lord ruling in person and Satan being bound for the entire period, and with the redeemed Church demonstrating the incomparable riches of God’s grace (Ephes. 2:6-7), the vast majority of people on Earth will rebel against God and will launch a huge battle to get Him out of their lives for good (Rev. 20:7-10).
Remember, God’s goal in all of the 7 dispensations was and is to find a way to live in peace with His Creation. Both history and prophecy show that as long as man has a sin nature, each of God’s attempts at peace with natural man will end in failure. Only by having our sin nature removed can we be made fit to dwell with God.
There will be peace on Earth and goodwill toward man, just like the angel promised to the shepherds on the night of the Lord’s birth. (Luke 2:14) The newly freed creation will respond eagerly to man’s husbandry.
Perfect weather and overflowing bounty will make his work a joy instead of a burdensome toil. Long life spans will return as sickness and disease become a thing of the past. “Once again men and women of ripe old age will sit in the streets of Jerusalem, each with cane in hand because of his age.
The city streets will be filled with boys and girls playing there.” (Zech. 8:4-5). This will be true through out the world because the Lord will settle disputes between the nations and peace will flow like a river.
