Are you Chinese?  It's funny because my daughter is in school working on her PhD in engineering. She doesn't date them for heavens sake -- she is just friends with them.  In fact, she and one of her girlfriends shared a house with several Chinese guys last year (purely platonic).  She also has a number of Indian friends.  I'm not sure if she feels more comfortable with the Chinese guys because all of her cousins on my husband's side are Chinese (long story) and that's what she grew up with?  I don't know, but I have met most of them and they are really nice and very intelligent.  I think she likes to hang with them because they don't pressure her like white guys do.  It's hard for a very attractive young woman to be friends with a white guy because they always want more and she gets really tired of that.  In fact, she got so fed up that she quit dating at all for two years!  She is dating a guy right now -- a third year doctoral candidate at her school and he is also white but they are not yet "Facebook" official.  LOL
