I know that a fresnel lens can boil water in 10 seconds when focusing the sunlight to a point. I was just wondering that if you placed one end of a fiber optic cable at the focus point, and run the fiber optic cable indoors, and focus the output of the other end to an aluminum heat sink...wouldn't this create plenty of heat for a home? Or would the fiber optic cable only transfer the light but not the heat?
