I would disagree that Aries is "the sign of war."  Sure, it is ruled by Mars, which can rule Wars, of course.  More broadly Mars is about how ends are achieved.  And Aries can be angry, selfish, and like a child, not consider others. But I also find Aries energy to be more about meeting challenges head on, often innovatively.  And Aries is very open minded, too. Aries does seem to be about explosions, and Aries explosions are loud and forceful, but somehow "clear the air" and are forgotten immediately afterward.  I would think any war ruled by Aries would be short lived.

Also, were the previous conjunctions in Aries accompanied by retrogrades back to Pisces?  I would think Pisces is pretty much antithetical to war, and these planets (Uranus is about taking a wider path and shaking up the status quo, innovation, and technology; Jupiter is about luck, expansiveness, aspirations and hope) retrograding to Pisces can be a chance for reconsidering and making changes from a spiritual perspective.  If the previous conjunctions were not followed by the Pisces retrograde, then I think that would be an important difference.

I wrote out a lot of stuff re western (tropical) vs vedic (sidereal) zodiacs, but i see now that has already been covered!
Maybe it might interest you,tho, OP, to look into these conjunctions from the sidereal perspective?

Uranus and Jupiter conjunctions in Aries every 42 years seem to trigger wars, We had one in 1927, Adolf is in his villa and thinking of his future. 12 years later 1939 is the official date of WW2

There was one Jupiter/Uranus conjunction in 1969 add 12 years building to Iran Iraq war , 1980/1981

and finaly we have 2010/2011,. What will this lead to?
2022 is the United states Pluto return. Pluto means rebirth, etc.

We had the 2010 Uranus and Jupiter Conjunction in Aries June 8, 2010, Both planets went back into Pisces and will conjunct Aries again in January 4th, 2011.
