Original Message Why Born-Again Christians do not continue to sin

[Below is the opening post from the 1st thread posted 1/20/05]

If you have Acknowledged Jesus as God become man, surrendered your life unto The Father, and received the Holy Spirit; you have been Born-Again. It is a process of Coming Unto The Father through Christ Jesus who is The Way unto The Father.

That said, there are many Christians out there who cannot understand that if they have been Born-Again and continue with the Holy Spirit guiding their lives, that they cannot simply sin as matter-of-factly as they did before they were Re-Born.

God cannot abide with sin or sinners. That is a basic fact. If you are Born-Again, you have the Holy Spirit living within you. HIS Witness is part of your being, your New Way of Life!

The Holy Spirit will not guide you into sin! When we were Carnal, we did not recognize what sin was in advance on all occasions. Self is a powerful adversary that cannot be overcome on our own. Self rationalizes sin to us so we fall into it.

Yet, Self is OverCome by our surrender to The Father! Self no longer has sway over our thinking and decisionmaking. The Holy Spirit replaces the Carnal Man with Spirit-Filled Man.

The Holy Spirit gives us an early warning mechanism internally that warns us of occasions that might lead us to sin. We also receive a clear understanding that the sin we are considering is a manifestation of Self which will alienate us from God.

God has OverCome Self in our lives, yet if we choose to sin, we are embracing Self once again. A Born-Again Christian has real Knowledge of God´s working within his/her life, and likely will not choose sin as their path.

The Holy Spirit does not leave us immediately upon our making a decision to sin and then doing so. Yet, if we do not promptly repent of the sin we have committed, HE will depart from us soon because HE cannot abide with sin.

There is great Biblical Evidence in Scripture that we who are Born-Again do not continue to sin.
