Original Message Did Giants ever exist? My opnion is that It's either all a load of crap, or some startling shidt is really being ignored by establishment for ignorant or even nefarious purposes:

The Papyrus Anastasi I (written around 1300 BC) is a political commentary written by Egyptian scribes. It mentions the existence of giants 4-5 cubits (2-2.5 meters) from foot to nose. These are referred to as the "Shasu" and were said to live near Mount Carmel. The Egyptian Execration Texts (composed between 1900 - 1700 BC) are a collection of Egyptian records. Interestingly enough, they refer to the "ly-aneq" people of central Canaan--possibly the Biblical tribe of "Anak." In 1928, the Ras Shamra Texts were found on the site of the ancient city of Ugarit (located in Syria). The cuneiform tablets date to 1200 BC. These speak of the existence of "R'pum" (Rephaim) who worshiped at Ashtaroth and Edrei. Alcaeus of Lesbos circa 600 BC mentions the killing of a giant at Ashqelon who was 5 Royal Babylonian cubits tall -- or 8 feet. Pliny, a 1st Century historian, testifies that a 9 foot 9 inch high giant named Gabbaras commanded one of the Roman legions (Legion Adiutrix).

REKOVAC -- While working under a medieval monastery, experts dug up [female] skeletons measuring over two meters...The female skeletons measure 126 centimeters from knees to neck, much more than the present day average. Soviet archaeologists have uncovered an early Bronze Age tomb in the northern Caucasus mountains containing the body of a man 7 feet 2 inches tall, the official press agency Tass reported Sunday (March 28, 1976). Los Angeles Times ( March 29, 1976, p. 9). GIANT BONES IN RUSSIA; Ancient Skeleton 7 Feet Tall Is Found in Azerbaijan Special to THE NEW YORK TIMES. Jan 29, 1947. pg. 21 Almost a sensational discovery made by archeologists. They found the bones of a giant, growing 2,5-3 meters, an ancient man near Borjomi 08/07/2008 - Rustavi-2 Broad casting company.
In 1890, the anthropologist Georges de Lapouge while excavating a Bronze age burial near Castelnau-le-Lez unearthed human bones of the humerus, tibia, and femur, twice the ordinary size. He estimated the height of the subject as 3,50 meters and several hundred kilos in weight. In this same Bronze age cemetery he found about 40 normal sized skulls, but among them was a frontal piece of a skull of very large size he estimated must have belonged to a young man very much over 2 meters in height, if proportionate. His findings were published in the journal Nature - La Nature, Vol. 18, 1890. And subsequent news reports from the London Globe and New York Times reported on these giant bones (1892- A Race of Giants in Old Gaul). In 1894 The New York Mail and Express, plus additional newspapers reported that human bones of gigantic size and skulls 30 to 32 inches in circumference were found by laborers building a water reservoir at Montpellier, France (2 miles south of Castelnau). These bones were sent to the Paris Academy, and were said to have belonged to persons over 10 feet in height. In principle, a controversial site in the remains of these characteristics is the dolmen of Oren, on Prullans, Cerdanya (Catalan Pyrenees). In 1917, apparently, were discovered, among other pieces, femurs of 70 to 92 cm long. In Garós (Pyrenees of Lleida), to reconstruct the apse of the church, the pastor Mossèn Jaqquet found the remains of a giant three meters high with an iron nail into the skull. In the reconstruction of another church in Urbasa human remains were found Cyclopean size...
"Gigantic Skeleton. — An Italian journal mentions, that in July last, the skeleton of a man, ten feet three inches high, - was dug up in the valley of Mazara, in Sicily. Human skeletons, of gigantic size, have heretofore been found in the same spot."
The Literary panorama, Volume 11
By Charles Taylor - 1812 (Interestingly a giant was found at Port Girgenti, 72 miles from Mazara in 1807 as told by Capt. James Allen of the ship Jupiter from Philadelphia).
Giants over 8 feet tall have been found at Porto Torres, Sardinia as reported by Reuters, Oct 30, 1953. These dated back 4,000 years.
According to the Nevada State Journal, Reno Nevada Feb 22, 1953 pg. 9:
"From these (caves) [Lovelock caves] the skeletons of the giants have been recovered along with their stone and bone implements, beads, duck and geese decoys and two giant-sized rabbit skin robes, sewed together with twine so tough it can not even now be broken by hand. Also, six-teen inch long moccasins have been recovered. Mrs. Beatty is especially Well qualified to tell of all this as she has investigated and studied Nevada from early childhood and her daily contact with all the items in the Historical Society's museum in the State Building make her talks so very interesting.".........
