This USGS press release was the lead story on ABC local news @ 5pm.
ARkStorm: California’s other "Big One"
Released: 1/14/2011 3:00:00 PM

]
excerpt: "... scientists unveiled a hypothetical California scenario that describes a storm that could produce up to 10 feet of rain, cause extensive flooding (in many cases overwhelming the state’s flood-protection system) and result in more than $300 billion in damage." (the newscast said $1 trillion)
The way it was presented, it sounded like they except this hypothetical situation to be a reality.
edited title 1/18 from "Arkstorm" to "SUPERSTORM!"
