If someone is used to a particular brand of tampon, that brand loyalty is for a reason.  After many years of having periods, any woman knows what works best for her body.  If anyone uses that particular brand, they and their significant others best prepare to see several to many bloodied panties due to issues inherent with a lack of flare-ability of a majority of all tampons on the market.  That specific brand that's not available at the moment (except in the black market) actually eliminates most issues with bleed-through caused by crappy manufacturing on the part of even top name tampon brands.

So if a woman freaks out and you think she's nuts, imagine how you'd feel if you had countless boxers, boxershorts, and/or briefs that wound up bloodied on account of a bad brand of tampons.  How would you feel knowing that instead of just buying tampons, now you also have to purchase more undergarments? It's hell, at best.  There's very good reason for any woman with a brand loyalty to not want to switch brands on something so very personal as to prevent embarrassing bleed-through.  Even if they have the ability to purchase hundreds of substitute undergarments, the fear of embarrassment of bleed-through onto their pants or skirts or seats is enough to warrant freaking out.

Is this the beginning of major shortages in necessary personal care items such as toilet paper, soap etc? This is why I have a closet filled from floor to ceiling with nothing but toilet paper...
