Being a computer tech I would have thought you would have known about these, but here ya go:

Add these to your .hosts file:

http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

You can also download Spybot S&D and inoculate.  This also updates your hosts file to deactivate the bad sites.

For the record, Malwarebytes AntiMalware will get rid of virtually anything - including the malware you mention - and it's free.

Lastly, if you use Firefox and are concerned about this sort of thing, you should install and learn how to use NoScript.

Personally I don't like spybot, but the program I was talking about was Malewarebytes. But in being a tech has nothing to do with knowing

Eset is a good all around program if you want to pay for anti-virus. But for free Microsoft security essentials is pretty dam good.
