I am a computer tech and I know there are some pretty bad viruses out there. There is a new Malware virus that portrays itself as a anti-virus program but itself is a malware program. I only know a few programs that can get rid of it but I am not sure if I can post the name of the anti malware program. If a MOD can contact me and let me know if its ok to post the name of the program to get rid of the malicious software please do so.
Being a computer tech I would have thought you would have known about these, but here ya go: Add these to your .hosts file: http://www.hosts-file.net http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm You can also download Spybot S&D and inoculate. This also updates your hosts file to deactivate the bad sites. For the record, Malwarebytes AntiMalware will get rid of virtually anything - including the malware you mention - and it's free. Lastly, if you use Firefox and are concerned about this sort of thing, you should install and learn how to use NoScript.
Personally I don't like spybot, but the program I was talking about was Malewarebytes. But in being a tech has nothing to do with knowing http://www.hosts-file.net http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm Eset is a good all around program if you want to pay for anti-virus. But for free Microsoft security essentials is pretty dam good.
