[quote:Anonymous Coward 11273222:MV8xMzYwMzAzXzM0NjAyNDE2XzkwQzdEMUZG] I've been taking Tramadol (with Tramadol ER at night) and Flexeril and enteric aspirin for several months for a herniated disk. No relief from Percocet or oral corticosteroids and Naprosen is too hard on my stomach. Now taking less Tramadol than at onset of injury. I have been able to go for 4-5 days without the meds and without experiencing any withdrawl symptoms, but with reduced daily activities that might provoke back pain. When trying to return to moderate activities, I need the meds for the pain. TENS has also been very helpful for acute episodes and for moderate-severe chronic pain. So, anybody else have terrible side effects from this crappy drug? I was only given 50 mg, once I took it, my pain got worse. Stupid me, I thought my condition was getting worse. So I took more, what a bad decision.
My abdomen and lungs starting hurting something terrible. I couldn't go to sleep because of the fear of losing consciousness or dying. I literally felt like I was going to stop breathing. I finally realized wth was going on and stopped. 1 week after stopping, I still have chest pain and am kind of twitchy.
These synthetic narcotics are crap,..I've heard some people do well with them. But they are still really addictive. If your Dr. trys to give Tramadol in lieu of morphine, don't do it. Messes with the serotonin too much.
