Saw the pinned thread on "glitch" of sun and came here instantly to see what was being said.
Hi guys, Happy Easter! So they still haven't fixed lasco 3? Damn cutbacks and Holidays probably not helping. I'm sure they are working on getting those images "normalized, processed, adjusted" to be more representative of what the cam sees after its recent attitude adjustment.. All the other cams are working fine and showing no such anomolies so it must be a hardware/software/comm problem with c3. Looks like they are superimpoising old CME images too to get it dialed in. In the meantime, I just ignore it until it's fixed.. Thx for the headsup Jayoung and keep those eyes open. IF more than one cam shows something like this then I would sure want to see it here.. here's the stereo a for the same time as the lasco pic from your pinned thread J.. http://stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov/browse//2011/04/24/ahead/euvi/195/512/20110424_165530_n7euA_195.jpg
Happy Easter! :) was away doing the family thing all day today Thanks OE, you said it best here it is more than likely a glitch in the process that SOHO goes through in order to get the photos that we see If this was indeed an anomaly near or on the sun, then we would be seeing it on all photos from LASCO C2, C3 STEREO A and B as well as on SDO.. and we are not I'm sure now that the holiday weekend is over, they will get to fixing the issue that SOHO is having :)
Happy Easter Everyone. The Sun seems to be humming along without anything to write home about....and it looks like the "Chimps" are back in the control room. :otang:
