[quote:Anonymous Coward 69053309:MV8xNDA4MDg5XzUwNzE0MTMwXzRGOTE2ODQz] [quote:Anonymous Coward 68623729:MV8xNDA4MDg5XzUwNzA4ODY5XzMzNUQ4OTI1] Fallout 3 is a masterpiece. The attention to detail / story / and atmosphere in the game set the bar for open world rpg's and imo is still in a league of its own. There are too many parallels in this game to current and historic events to name. I love roaming around the wasteland outskirts of DC. I was on this ridge beside a bombed out satellite array and found a Chinese spy bunker, hacked their computer, than picked up a mysterious shortwave signal of a guy saying his family needs help. Followed his message to a drain pipe that led to a room where the skeletons of the family remains. The timeline of the game is strange with the 1950's theme surrounded by futuristic post nuclear wasteland with robots and sci fi weapons. The game is genius. Can't wait for FO 4.
It's a genius game, the creepy/horrible little stories you unearth as you travel around are amazing. Some of the experiment vaults are terrifying!
I see this game as 'them' showing us a look at that future. It is very enjoyable, I have played it for hours. I have just said so many times while playing it, 'wow, that is the Illuminati at work for sure'

In the game you are performing various tasks in post-nuclear apocalyptic Washington DC. The history is that war between the USA and Russia/China ended in nuclear exchange.
In the game you grow up in a Vault - an underground self-sustaining shelter that those who could afford to, moved into prior to the war. In some areas, the door will have a skeleton by it with an old sign saying let us in, or something along those lines.
Russia attacked the USA, entering though Alaska.
Some Vaults fail for various reasons and the inhabitants die off.
Some Vaults you find evidence of various experiments being performed on the inhabitants without their knowledge or consent.
Alien/ET references and objects in the game.
In one mission, you use a robot to defeat the 'bad' governing body. The robot was an old war weapon that was intended for fighting the Chinese. He shouts propaganda as he crushes the enemy - [

I am sure there is a lot more that I missed or forgot about.
Just some interesting info...
