[quote:Anonymous Coward 1320469:MV8xNDI0NTYwXzIzNDU4ODIyX0Y4QUU3MTc5] [quote:Veresanctus] [quote:skirmisher] [quote:Astronut] [quote:skirmisher] [quote:Astronut] [quote:Anonymous Coward 1273882] [quote:Astronut] Mercury is near the middle of the image, Venus isn't even in the frame yet (though its lens flare is). Just to be clear first, we're talking about this image, right? http://stereo-ssc.nascom.nasa.gov/browse/2010/12/09/behind/hi1/1024/20101209_060901_s4h1B.jpg
Is that the Earth/Moon at the top? That's what he's saying. Also that only 3 planets should be visible in that image (excluding lensflare from approaching planet/object).
So he IS freaking out about the "dark orb" then?
Astro look at ops vid from 4:30 a big bright shining object comes in from the right
The big bright one coming in from the right, though at that time only visible as a lens flare, is Venus.
Ok i think OP stated that we could see 3 planets to start with venus, mercury and earth or something, that must be the problem is venus on the vid to start with or is it coming in from the right
It's looking more like one of the "three planets" mentioned in the video is actually a star and Venus is actually the bright object coming into view.
So lets say its venus from the right, the reason its so huge and bright is it that its really close to sterio B or A
Ok, first of all, I recommend you watch this entire video. Why? Because this old redneck sounding star gazer KNOWS HIS SHIT!!!
Second, if you have been trying to learn and figure out the StereO Twins, this is very good beginner knowledge...
Third, WATCH CLOSELY starting at 4:00 in, because this is the reason for my Subject headline...
Happy viewing and please help others to see this with a lil bump or two....
Michael
