[quote:TBar1984:MV8xNDU4Nzc3XzI0MDY3MzQ5XzQ0OThCRjk1] [quote:Anonymous Coward 1355614] [quote:TBar1984] Where did you hear it 'can't be seen in the visible light spectrum'? They are dim but are actually brighter than Jupiter. From here you find the Brown Dwarf Absolute Magnitude range is from +15 to +20 - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brown_dwarf#Distinguishing_low-mass_brown_dwarfs_from_high-mass_planets From here you find that Jupiter has an Absolute Magnitude of +26 - http://books.google.com/books?id=2QVmiMW0O0MC&pg=PA545&lpg=PA545&dq=Absolute+Magnitude+of+Jupiter&source=bl&ots=47tFqHgam8&sig=RffQH1Mflyxe7-ItTyZxQVCqeNE&hl=en&ei=CICzTZH0NoH10gHk1ZniCQ&sa=X&oi=book_result&ct=result&resnum=6&ved=0CEIQ6AEwBQ#v=onepage&q=Absolute%20Magnitude%20of%20Jupiter&f=false Now considering that Jupiter is around the 3rd brightest planet in the solar system, any Brown Dwarf approaching the orbit of Jupiter would quickly be recognized as one of the brightest planets in the system and would be seen visually long before that....
Look at these NASA images: http://tinypic.com/r/25qc66x/7 http://tinypic.com/r/2rvxyra/7 I have some other images as well. That object is about the size of Jupiter. It really pissed off the Sun when it went close in February, as you can see. Probably from its powerful magnetic and gravity fields. Seeing as it was completely enveloped in that flare, that means it was no more than 5 million miles from the Sun. So, Jupiter-sized and 5 million miles from the Sun - that eliminates the nine known planets. Soooo... That object is, I believe, what people are seeing around the world with all the many thousands of 'second sun' videos. It's not invisible, clearly, but it probably doesn't emit much visible light itself. If it is a brown dwarf, and it seems to be, then it is, I believe, a small Type T brown dwarf, probably emitting a ferocious amount of x-rays. That's likely causing the mass animal die-offs worldwide. Sickening people too - swollen thyroids, pressure headaches, ear-ringing, nausea, skin rashes, etc. The effects of that thing's gravity are obvious unless you're blind: exponential rise in quakes, volcanic eruptions, magnetosphere problems, aberrant high and low tides, 'rogue waves', sinkholes, lithosphere tears, crop failures, weather chaos, yada yada. It'd be nice if NASA would stop hiding all the info from us. We know now from their own images that something other than the nine planets is in the inner solar system, it is powerful, and it is seriously disrupting life on Earth.
So you insist that a object of that size, that close to the sun would not be naked eye visible? It would be bathed in sunlight and be easily seen as the brightest object in the system besides the sun. Not to mention the gravitational effects something at least 13 times as massive as Jupiter would have on ALL the planet's orbits. Every Astronomer on the planet would be screaming! You need to do a lot more research....
